Re: what's the actual top speed you've managed to go at?

My father had a delimited and tuned RS4 Avant until last year and my sister swears that she and my stepmother managed to get an indicated 290kph out of it on the autobahn, which if true would be quite eyepopping. I never took it beyond about 240kph. Which is ample on an Italian autostrada these days...

Re: Discs/pads for B7 RS4?

Thanks. So how much life (mileage-wise) do you reckon they have in them?

Re: Discs/pads for B7 RS4?

Cheers. I thought a full set of discs/pads (i.e. rear and back) was £1k?

I'm trying to work out what costs might be looming over the horizon for this particular example...

BBS on S3?

Does anyone have a picture of an S3 on the 18" BBS cross-spoke alloys that were a factory option on TTs?

If you could post it up it would be much appreciated.

Turns out the bushes have been worn into an early grave by the generally cratered surface and traffic-calming devices of South London's roads and this in turn has damaged the ARB.

Doh.

Leather retrim?

Does anyone know of a good place for a leather retrim in the London area and how much it might cost to do the seats in an A3/S3?

Cheers :D

Not sure I like these. Have seen a fair few in several colours (best was a sort of rust-red colour) and just think they don't quite hit the mark. My money would go on a charcoal-coloured Gallardo (even if you do apparently have to pronounce it Gay-ardo, which sounds totally unappealing) if I was in ...

To be fair to Docklands Audi, they have agreed to contribute 50% to the cost of the coilpacks as a goodwill gesture even though Audi UK point-blank refused to.

Which is better than nothing

I think it can't be anything major as I have just spent a whole day caning the poor car on an advanced high-speed driving course and, though the tyres are no longer quite what they once were, the suspension was (and seems still to be) fine. Still creaks away over those speed-humps though I note. The...

I have literally this minute come back from spending a day with a something called the 1st Lotus Driving School. Went along with a mate who has an gussied-up Elise and another mate who has an S2000 (you don't have to have a Lotus). Absolutely amazing and exhausting. Cost 160 quid each for the 3 of u...

Is that so? I had no idea...just used then as they are near my house.

Apparently they do call them in but mine because mine was a private import they didn't call it in.

A suggestion has been made that the cost be met as a goodwill gesture....

My A3 Quattro does this occasionally - I'll have to check the ARB because it has been bothering me and Audi couldn't find anything wrong at the last service.

It also creaks like old floorboards over speed humps - has anyone else experienced this and know the cause?

1.8T engine coil packs

One of mine failed completely on Saturday, 7 days after the car had a 40k service at truly vast expense at Docklands Audi, leaving me with a clattering 3-cylinder engine. Not a complicated fix to buy and fit 4 new ones but I'm pretty hacked. I gather this is a very well-known problem and so I am won...
