I thought ( when contemplating an S3) that from Y reg onwards they were 225, different engine code I seem to remember. Still I guess it isn't that important now it has been mapped

Nice work Darren  Vag-com was done at the service yesterday, and they said the only fault was with the maf (even though I thought they rarely showed up on the there...) I have not had a boost leak check done for about 12 months as I have struggled to find someone local to do it without being...

Darren, There is no smoke from the car, the turbo's don't make any noise over and above the whistle that appears to be standard. At my last MOT (September) the technician said there was some oil leaking from somewhere but he didn't know where, I guess this is the source. The fact that it hasn't drun...

Service results, Please help....

Hi all, As a result of my inspection a new MAF has been ordered; but more of a concern to myself is that on the receipt it says that "Bank 1 turbo leaking oil". Is this something to cause me sleepless nights or is it something that is an easy(read, cheap...) fix meaning I can concentrate on other th...

I spoke to the guy at the garage and he said he would do a health check and replace the MAF for £100. He seemed to think that the symtpons experienced could be the MAF and that would be a good (cheap) place to start and I am not bothered if it doesn't totally cure it as I am sure it needs doing anyw...

Rob, When they did the idler pulley I asked whether or not it was worth doing the timing belt etc at the same time. The guy said no, as it was the other side of the block (excuse terminology here) and that it would take up loads more time and expense (and it has been done). I don't have vag-com pers...

Cheers Clive. I may well give the people who did the idler pulley, in the new year another shout, as they seemed competent and reasonably priced I am not sure if they would give it a full health check though. Being near Norwich there is not an abundance of suitable venues, I am to and fro London at ...

Thanks men.

I don't know if the MAF has ever been replaced. I have had the car 18 months and it is something I have been meaning to do. Could a mechanical <beep> (me) do this myself?

Acceleration dies at 4,000 RPM

Can anyone please tell me what my problem is likely to be please.... Within the last month or so I have noticed that the car is nowhere near as quick as it was (99 Avant). The most noticeable lack of pace is when the car hits 4,000RPM. Up to this mark it pulls ok, however when I hit this point ( no ...
