Sat Nav Repair

My 2010 RS5 MMI HDD failed. The only dealer option was a replacement head unit @ >£2K. Contacted Satnav Repair of Surbiton who were very clear and helpful on the phone. Sent it off to them(I am in Leeds) Wednesday afternoon, received their diagnosis and price (£378) Thursday lunchtime and had the un...

Re: RS5 used for cigarette raids

On the Autocar test for the RS4 they said that the actual limiter speed worked out at 163mph (260kph?/). The agreement with MB< BMW etc is the official limit is 155 (250kph). I recently recorded 162 on the clock which was 158 on a GPS speed camera on the A4 (German one of course!) with no hint of li...

Yes they know there is a market for RS mirrors. Dealer tells me of one chap who had 3 lots stolen and ended up spraying body colour

Specific to RS5 I think. No damage to the car other than the mirror brackets but will need door dismantling to replace everything including the wiring loom,

It happened at lunch time in the overspill car park of a sports centre where I have parked regularly.

How did you discover it was faulty? Did the low oil warning come on or was it more serious?

Observation - Oil consumption

My RS4 (and previous S4) used quite a bit of oil in the first 20000 miles or so (about 1L per 1000 miles) but after 3000+ miles in the RS5 it is still showing maximum. Not an issue either way, just an observation.

Not a great time for new cars. Since picking mine up dark mornings and nights, filthy roads and ice and snow have given only a few opportunities to drive it as intended. Having to commute in heavy traffic etc has made me a great fan of the gearbox, adaptive cruise control and hill hold assist. Not w...

Another Arrival

Picked it up last week. Highly delighted with it. Will be glad once past the bedding down period. Will share further thoughts when I get a few more miles on the clock. November is a rotten time to pick up a new car with early darkness and filthy roads

Picked up MINE yesterday

Collected mine yesterday. Had to go back to work so only drove in the dark in heavy traffic. I will post pics and update after the weekend when I have a chance to explore it properly (need a trip to Stranraer!!). So far delighted.
