Re: Oil Choice S4 B6

There are for sure many 5-40 oils that respect VW502.00. In addition there are oils that were presented as VW503.01 that claims only VW502.00 now. I had that issue with Castrol Edge Formula RS 0-40 on which all the sudden 503.01 reference disappeared from the bottle. When I called Castrol they told ...

Re: RNS-D to RNS-E (Quick Question)

I don't know which kit you ordered. But it should have the 26 pin connector. This is the one I used when I upgraded from RNS-D to RNS-E: http://www.kufatec.de/shop/product_info.php/info/p162_RNS-E-Retrofit---Harness---Audi.html If it is the same, did you check that you selected the right options (th...

Using copy DVDs reduces the life of the laser reader since copies are harder to read, which makes the laser overheat. I've seen several hundred people have to replace their lasers because of this Are you really sure of the root cause ? The reason why I ask is that reading a carefully executed copie...

The check list states it does not replacing at 1350,000km, just inspect for leaks. Seriously is there a need to replace the oil if the stealer are not looking to make a quick buck? In both cases the oil goes into cycle of heating then cooling. An S4 is for sure less stressful than a Nissan GTR but ...

Don't know how often it is recommended by Audi. But to avoid issues I guess every 120000km is a good balance taking into account that it is neither very expensive nor complicated to do.

As I said it is not the first time that Sport-Auto receives a "tuned-up" version of a car. But that does not mean it is the 520ch version. It does not have to be specifically optimised to be quicker than a RS5 based on the power figures of the RS5. You say that 4.8 for 0-100 is not possible. But it ...

 It's not a fair test because the C63 Amg was the new C63 AMG 520 so 70 more than the Rs5. Just look the time and you will see it's not the basic C63 Amg. I have the newspaper too. On the description they claim that it is still the old one (V8 6.2l 457hp). Frankly speaking there is no reason ...

I have a 2004 B6 with a Symphony 6 slot front loader CD and am thinking of putting in an RNS-E, will it work....? I don't remember if the model you described is a Symphony I or a Symphony II, however the answer is more or less the same. As soon as you have a "double-DIN" radio unit, you can quite e...

I think it's more about how it drives, the basic A5 is a handsome car (I...

I have to admit that I gave up.
I hate that rattle but except using a thick oil (or paying big bucks for some modified tensioner) I don't think that I will get rid of it.

Xyber I really hope that you will continue not to have it.

I have checked my inlet allen head bolts today after reading this and found that 4 of the 14 were slightly loose. I was able to get a quarter of turn from the 4 loose bolts. Worth keeping an eye on. Monitor you start up rattle if you have it. See if with the manifold tightened down it's improved Fo...

I noticed when removing the manifold that the bolts had hardly any tension on them at all so they may have backed up on their own, so may be worth people checking them just incase. They are the 14, 5mm allen bolts on the outer most parts of the manifold. NOT THE TORX/STAR BOLTS There was a TSB abou...

It fits straight if you pick the model for B7. But as it has been said you need an harness to fit the connectors, you need also an adapter for the antenna and the keys to extract the device. In addition, you have to bring CAN+ signal which can be done by bypassing the TMC box (in the boot on the lef...

Are you saying over a 12 month period, 5w 40 is better than 5w 30? The difference between 5w30 and 5w40 is that when hot the later will be thicker than the earlier. Taking into account that we do not have a dry sump system, I would prefer to have something that will tend to stay longer in touch wit...
