Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Detailing question

I think the swissol and Zymol are both excellent products. But i believe its the detailer themself that really gets the results.Who details your car Chris? Is it Clark from polished bliss? A small element of truth there Stevie  As with all products, their final result is only as good as the p...

RE: Direction of polishing?? back and forth or circular moti

Back and forth, side to side...straight lines only PLEASE!

All washing, polishing and waxing/sealing activities MUST be done with a staright line motion. Doing "round and round" whether washing or whatever on paint WILL cause swirls (and tears!)

Re: RE: Just running out of detailing clay lubricant...

An excerpt from the detailingworld forum . . . "A shampoo should contain no harsh detergents if you are washing a car that you have spent many hours polishing, sealing and waxing. Harsh detergents strip wax straight off the paintwork leaving your paint surface dried out and unprotected. Fairy Liqui...

RE: Just running out of detailing clay lubricant...

Why "never use washing up liquid"?!

I've been known to use a splash or two when needed...it works and it won't harm the car

RE: Scratches and glass

Google "Cetem"

They make glass polishing kits for DIY use (with an electric drill or similar) which should ideal for removing minor scratch marks. A word of caution though, I've heard of one user who overdid the polishing and created a "lens" effect in the screen!

Coloured polishes/waxes can only be regarded as temporary solutions...the waxy fillers soon drop out and you'll be back to first base again. In much the same way as Autoglyms SRP works using chalky short lived fillers. You really need to use a very mild abrasive polish to achieve swirl free results....

RE: Any tips to prevent wheel lacquer peeling?

Mask carefully if you're going to spray!

As a temporary cosmetic repair (it'll last for ages) get a touch up lacquer brush kit, a good blob will seal it, or clear nail varnish is just as good.

No it's not trade price...it's a local accessory shop and that price is available to all. I'd be happy to get some and post, just fear the difficulty of packing and posting would make the price less attractive. Another good one to try and may be easier for you to source locally is a shampoo made by ...

Good idea Chalky - stuff your sponge in the mitt, I'll be giving it a go! I'd have no problems in recommending the AutoGlym shampoo if you're using a sealant like the Klasse AIO. Not sure what size the ebay offering was, £20.00 sounds a lot if it's the 5ltr size. I pay £12.00 from a local shop for 5...

weird having your hand in a cloth bag Although I have a wash mit, I have never worn it as a glove as I agree that would feel weird, just use it/hold it as you would a sponge and I am sure you would get on a lot better with it. PS... Daves washing instructions by email as he suggests above is a must...

Don't drink it Stevie! The Swissol, or Swissvax as its soon to be called, is good and does smell nice etc. I'd suggest there are products that are as good as Swissol for a fraction of the cost...and that's from someone who sells Swissol/vax! I advocate Johnsons Baby Bath for maintaining a waxed car ...
