Childish Question

Ignoring the limiter, how fast will a standard RS6 Avant go? (Bit childish, but I'd love to know!)

It's all about traction, I suspect. The F1 is, of course, rear-wheel drive. Not only that, it has gigantic torque and so getting it off the line cleanly is probably quite hard (haven't tried it myself yet!). In an RS6, even with the traction control off it won't lose grip under full throttle in 1st ...

With a Plus I wouldn't worry about launch control - just stick your foot down! The problem occurs after 30mph, though, when the F1 (and others, to be honest) pull ahead somewhat. The F1 will be at 100mph in just over 6 seconds, whereas we are looking at pretty much double that. If it was wet though....

Performance Figures

Autocar say a standard RS6 gets from 0-30 in 1.7 seconds. It should be noted that the McLaren F1 manages it in a frankly lethargic 1.8 seconds.
