You should take it up to about 15 psi. I had leaks that showed themselves first at around 12-13 psi. Mine also drops to about 5 psi in 15-20 seconds. Mine was also leaking on the opposite site quite badly. The alignment was so bad that a new O-ring didn't help. I ended up using self-vulcanizing rubber and just wrapped a couple of turns around the pipe and pressed them together.

I did a pressure test the other day, and since the car has been running fine I didn't really expect to find any leaks. Boy, was I wrong! Are you sure about this? My service book clearly states every 30.000 km for the RS4. And so does the "Self Study Programme" file that you can download here on the site...

Let me try and shed some light over this with torque and power. To simplify things I am disregarding from air resistance and any losses in the gearbox and drive train over the revs. Acceleration is about getting maximum torque to the driving wheels.
