You should take it up to about 15 psi. I had leaks that showed themselves first at around 12-13 psi. Mine also drops to about 5 psi in 15-20 seconds. I did a pressure test the other day, and since the car has been running fine I didn't really expect to find any leaks. Boy, was I wrong! Let me try and shed some light over this with torque and power. To simplify things I am disregarding from air resistance and any losses in the gearbox and drive train over the revs. Acceleration is about getting maximum torque to the driving wheels.
