Yep, it is because of the design of the suspension, taken from several write ups / manufacturers guides, the ratio of spring travel to wheel travel is roughly 0.8 front and rear.

If you have Vista you can use the snipping tool to save part of the screen as a jpeg.

Clearance issues are
brakes at the front
and the suspension upright on the inside of the rim at the rear,
that's what the spacers are for so it depends on the tyres/front brakes.
