Re: RE: Re: RE: Creaks
i find that a good going over with leather conditioner on the seats in all the crevises and silcon grease on the door and boot rubbers cure all my creaks when they apear done this twice now and cured it both times Agree, but Krytox is more effective and longer lasting on the rubber seals. VW sells ...

i believe that lpg is 100ron - many cars make do without a modified ecu map, but i'd want to have this option with a hi-po car. the other big issue is range - just not anywhere as good as with petrol. also you lose a fair amount of usable space in the vehicle. LPG is higher octane but lower specifi...

Suspension feel in wet weather
I'm sure I'm not imagining it, but my suspension (with PSS9s) feels much more comfortable, as in it feels like it has less high speed compression resistance, in wet weather. I wouldn't have thought that the differences in atmospheric pressure, temperature and/or humidity could make much difference, ...

Sure that both horns are working? Sounds like your low tone horn is not working, and the high tone on its own sounds crap.

Be careful about using ride heights at the extremes - for some reason known only to themselves, Bilstein provides for a lot more height adjustment on the PSS9s than can be properly accomodated. I started with the ride too low at the rear and it felt like it was riding on the bump stops. Stick within...

Ah Bugger! lol, Non resonated can be droney at motorway speeds (well sensible motorway speeds!) whereas ressonated isnt. My early (2002) non-resonated can be boomy at 30-60 but when cruising at 70 upwards it's nothing compared to the usual wind and tyre noise. However its rarely annoying, not even ...

Oh, and on the height issue, the Bilstein specs give you a range of height adjustment. I went for the higher end of that range and the height of the car appears very similar to stock, about two finger width gap between the top of the stock size tyres and the arches all round. I know this is not the ...

I've been trying different settings from 9 to 4. Noting that the adjustment is for both high speed bump and rebound simultaneously, my impression is that bump is relatively too firm compared to rebound. So what I think I'd really like is the no.9 bump setting but the no.4 rebound setting. Anyone wit...

Yeah, S4 coilovers fit (the Bilsteins have the same model number for both cars). Ohlins/Motorsport coilovers from Stasis are by far the best option, and worth the extra. Then again, there is the new SL product, which uses essentially the same components but without the adjustability, and much cheape...

And does anyone know the spring rates on the PSS9s and how they compare to OEM?

Same part number for PSS9s for B5 S4 and RS4. The adjustment is for high speed valving rather than low speed, so mainly for float versus crash rather than adjusting handling, and can be carried out without removing shocks. Combined with a 17mm H&R ARB on the rear, I find that these work extremely we...
