Well respect to Evo for not being as biased as usual in their review. They agree the RS4: Looks better Has better interior/build Better steering Sounds more aggressive ...and... on real UK roads is likely to be much better than the M3 in all round/all-weather driving ability and point-to-point driv...

What baffles me more than anything is how BMW have made an M3 coupe weigh MORE than the RS4 saloon!!! This is despite banging on about how the new V8 is 25 kg lighter than the old straight six M engine. Where is the fat coming from??!? Don't be baffled - read the previous posts on this thread: It i...

Hello mate - no, the difference between curb and EU1 is c.75kgs (as you can see from the BMW figures). The RS6 weight of 1,840 is in fact a curb weight (I got this figure from TrackChallenge who state curb weights not unladen weights) so apologies for that. Doesn't change any conclusions though - wh...

& the new M3 is heavier than the RS4 Saloon Audi are a little cheeky and measure unladen weights which is just the car (not in a driveable form). The standard measure is EU1 weights: car + 68kg driver + accessories + full fluids + 90% fuel + 7kg cargo. Here are the differences (on a like-for-like b...

Re: RE: Re: RE: New M3 v RS4

And the first reply to the review on TG site I am fortunate enough to have driven an M3 because I work for BMW. I personally don't like it and feel that it will never come close to Audi's RS4. The Audi is a masterpiece and is the best-handling saloon around, while the M3 is just a little bit too mu...

Re: RE: New M3 v RS4

it's a real shame that the new m3 is not getting great reviews :@) Not so sure about that: TopGear seemed to love it: http://www.topgear.com/blogs/drives/079-bmw-m3/ There will be criticism of the new BMW M3, but let's just get one thing out of the way right now so that we can all concentrate on th...

The fact that this table shows the RS4 being faster than the R8 shows it can't be relied upon. Same engine, in the middle of the car not overhanging the front wheels and less weight and the R8 is slower? Also the CSL can't be 32 secs quicker than the standard E46... can it?

Re: RE: White M3 at the docks .... what you think???

I'd have to disagree there. Quattro and in fact most 4WD setups make a MASSIVE difference to handling and grip in the wet. By the pure fact that you have 2 extra wheels trying to grip and influence the direction of the car, it will handle much better in the wet. The clue to why you are wrong is in ...

Re: RE: Re: RE: M5 Estate

The bottom line in pretty much every road test is that the B7 RS4 is a superior car to the E46 M3 Hmmmm, sounds like quite a limited selection of road tests. Most road tests say the E46 although it is years older than the Audi is a better drivers' car. The Audi is a better day-to-day car but dynami...

Eh? I've switched from an RS6 to a n E60 M5 and the service level and product knowledge of the BMW service staff is sooo much better, not to mention sales staff.
