Re: Avant Tailgate issues

The seals go in the wiper assembly all the time allowing washer fluid in the motor. A tell tale sign is the jets blocking frequently or rusty discharge from them. And as the front and rear wiper motors share the same fuse if the rear motor jams an d you have to pop the fuse then you have no front w...

Re: Music off Smart Cards

I've tried dragging a small list of songs (approximately ten!) off iTunes onto a Smart Card and then plugging it into the slots behind the screen and the system is showing that its 'loading' them, but it does this for over half an hour and shows no sign of completing. iTunes defaults to a format (A...

Re: 2007 Sprint Blue RS4 Avant

my wife hates mine cos of the bucket seats lol The bucket seats are IMHO a "boy thing" in that they look good and are good for the 10% of the time when driving at 100% but for the other 90% of the time they can be a PITA to anyone with a lower back injury or a woman trying to get in/out with decorum.

The Audi part number is 420 121 321.

BTW the R8 oil filler cap (420 103 485 B) is also a direct fit.

Re: RNSE Bluetooth worked yesterday

It's not uncommon for the Bluetooth module (which is not part of the RNS-E, it's a separate module under the front seat) to "lock-up" and need a complete reboot - by removing the relevant fuse, waiting a minute or so and replacing the fuse. Less common is for the BT module to store a blocking fault ...

Re: Carbon clean? Bang for buck?

Terraclean/EngineCarbonClean may well clean out some stuff post combustion...the process involves pumping oxygen and hydrogen into the intake which will no doubt result in a hotter and more efficient combustion, allowing gunk to be fired out of the exhaust while the engine is being rev'd furiously....

Re: Wanted. Glovebox CD changer for B7 RS4

The CD changer is a direct swap with the iPod dock in the top right (on a RHD car) of the glovebox, even has the same connector IIRC.

BTW the CAN AMI fits in the same place, if you have a 2010+ RNS-E :bigblink: but needs different wiring.

My experience is that whatever oil you use the oil consumption is near enough zero for the first 5000 miles after a change, then increases steadily afterwards.

Re: Carbon clean? Bang for buck?

Seems I wasn't clear enough; what I was suggesting was a regular Terraclean MIGHT prevent (or reduce) the carbon build up. You can hear the engine run smoother and smell the exhaust improvement as the neat ionised fuel under pressure is run through. Cleaning is clearly occuring and anything that le...

Re: Carbon clean? Bang for buck?

As for reducing carbon build up, a regular Terraclean might be one way (it certainly can vastly improve emission results). I wouldn't expect much out of a terraclean.... http://forum.rs246.com/viewtopic.php?t=117463 +1 As the thread Faisal linked to shows Terraclean has far more marketing hype than...
