Thanks!
Any thoughts on getting a high-mile RS6? 250-300k kms? I am of course budgeting for expensive repairs and maintenance. But do these cars still have legs after 300k kms? Would be a daily (mostly highway cruising) and can manage if the car is off the road from time to time for maintenance.

Pre-facelift vs. facelift reliability?
Hello all, Is there any evidence of pre-facelift C6 RS6s being less reliable than the facelift version? Or are they the same? From what I can tell the only difference is minor cosmetics (rear lights, 3G MMI, etc.). But in terms of reliability, would it be worth paying a premium for a facelift? Thanks!

Re: RS6 C6 – Preventive maintenance tips?
Yes unfortunately it is sort of putting me off going for the C6 RS6. Would really love to own one though.
Is anyone still daily driving there's? How is that going? Could a well-sorted example (with recent engine-out, oil pump seal repair, etc.) be trouble-free for a few years?

Re: advice for rs6 v10
The C6 RS6 is just a great engine. And not even all that great actually, not like the N/A 4.2 for example, it's rather the fact that it has some Lamborghini heritage and no business being in an A6 body. But as a car it's not all that amazing. Consider the following: - the Lancia Thema 8.32 has an am...

Re: RS6 C6 – Preventive maintenance tips?
I'm in the same boat, have been contemplating swapping from my B7 RS4 to a C6 RS6 which just suits my driving style better (both being absolutely exceptional in their own ways). While I can handle the RS4 maintenance, I'm still not in a position to be able to justify the RS6 costs. Everything seems ...

Rear coil springs
My 2008 Avant with 104000kms is sagging in the rear, my local mechanic had a look and said the "rear coil springs" need to be replaced (ressort arrière in French). Apparently the DRC system, which was replaced in 2016 at around 80000kms, is working fine no leaks etc., so it's just the springs. But m...

Re: How do I know if I need a carbon clean?
My priority is more on reliability and keeping my car in good condition. I'm considering the de-flap as I hear there's a risk to that (but how common really?). Would a carbon clean give the engine more low-end torque? That's the only area where I feel it's missing a bit. I live in Switzerland so mor...

Re: How do I know if I need a carbon clean?
Thanks!
I'm not too concerned at the moment, the engine runs great, probably not making 420bhp but that's fine. Maybe one day!
Also, is there a certain driving style which is more likely to result in carbon buildup? I put 3-5k miles per year on the car, 60-70% of which is highway.

How do I know if I need a carbon clean?
I've had my B7 RS4 Avant for a year now, and have taken it from 90k to 95k (kilometers). Besides a throttle body replacement when I got it, everything has been working perfectly. I don't know too much about the history of the car. It seems like it was daily driven for its first few years and then on...

Re: Buying an import
Hi NICKH, I'm curious what you consider expensive to maintain properly. How much has it cost over the 9 years you've had it? I'm looking at getting one now as well (as a daily driver), my mental barrier is probably at around 4-5k CHF per year in maintenance. Not that I would have issues covering a h...

Re: Used C6 RS6 as a daily driver?
Thanks! How much did the engine out job cost? I assume that would be on the higher end of the potential repair bills?
I'm looking at one which is on 180k kms / 111k miles and has just been serviced at an Audi dealer. Not sure if it's had the oil pump seal or coolant pipes replaced.

Used C6 RS6 as a daily driver?
I'm getting the urge to buy a C6 RS6 as a daily driver. Good or bad idea? Will a 4k (CHF) annual service/maintenance budget be sufficient? How is parts availability for repairs? My B7 RS4 spent quite a bit of time in the shop for some simple parts, but that's not my daily driver so it didn't bother ...

Re: Intermittent CEL / EPC / ESP lights + limp mode
I'm not very mechanically gifted unfortunately.. I don't mind having it replaced by Audi but I want to be sure if I need to replace the whole IM. The dealer is a family friend so I tend to trust them.. I'll have to speak to them again once I bring the car back, perhaps I'm not translating the part n...

Re: Intermitant limp mode
I'm having this problem on my 2008 RS4. Took it to the dealer who started by replacing the throttle body connector, to no avail. They say the next step is to replace the throttle body but that it's part of the intake manifold and the whole IM needs to be replaced. Yet I'm reading here that others ha...
