This site has some good info and a utility you can download to aid the recoding of the Central Locking:

http://www.wak-tt.com/vagcom/vagcomclcoding.htm

It's for a TT but is the same on our cars.

The part numbers for the Coolant Temp Sensor can be found at the end of this thread: http://rs246.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=54533 I changed this on my car recently, the sensor was faulty (error logged in VAGCOM) but the gauge was showing the correct temp so this may not be your pr...

Update - I called in at the local Stealers at lunchtime, the parts chap came out and took a look to make sure he was giving me the right coolant sensor. Unclipped the connector from the top and the top of the sensor was full of what looked like brake fluid! (did have the brake fluid changed fairly r...

Since I got a fault code in VAGCOM for the Coolant temp sensor "reading implausible" I think I'm best replacing that first. So if I go to my dealer and ask for a "blue one" that will be sufficient info?

cheers

Part number for Coolant Temp sensor

Does anyone have the part number for the coolant temp sensor? Think mine is on the way out as I've been having an intermittent starting problem and got a temp sensor error logged in vagcom.

cheers

RE: Noggy B5 S4 - Manchester

Yes, that was me in the Imola. I'm on a training course this week, don't usually have to go as far as Manchester in the rush hour :). The traffic lights out on Monday/Tuesday were a PITA!

RE: 19s

You can run Virtual PC or Guest PC on a Non-Intel Mac. But the performance is not great and can cause problems with VAG-COM I believe.

RE: Where to get the best rubber for standard wheels?

I just put some Falken ZE 512's on the front - ordered from www.blackcircles.com. Couldn't fault the service. If you are changing all 4, might be worth placing 2 orders as you will get a discount off the second 2 - equivalent to £6 a tyre in my case. Actually I'll get a fiver if I refer you, what's ...
