Re: High Mileage B7 RS4 (135k miles)
Mine just recently ticked over 135k and aside from random minor electrical issues it has been very reliable. I’d check to see what the DRC was replaced with and when. My coilovers only lasted about 20k miles and should be replaced (getting some annoying rattles). I’d personally advise against coilov...

Re: How do I know if I need a carbon clean?
Regarding the deflap, I would not recommend it in Switzerland. My car runs a little rough anytime it is below around 10C ambient (only for a few minutes until the motor warms up). Luckily it rarely gets colder than that in the UK. A good alternative to deflapping is loctite on the screws — that's wh...

Re: How do I know if I need a carbon clean?
It pretty much always needs a carbon clean, though I do not think anything bad will happen if you put it off. Besides the flap screws shaking loose, but I am not sure how common that issue actually is. I highly recommend doing it. It is a completely different car after having it done. I scored 346 h...

Re: Recall
I dropped my RS4 at Bristol Audi at 10:30am on Monday. They replaced the airbag, did the whole video inspection thing, and washed the outside/vacuumed the inside. The car was ready for pickup at 3:30pm the same day. And as a bonus they didn't even try to sell me anything!

Re: Rear spring choices with drc delete
I’m tired of scraping speed humps and am looking for something along these lines as well.
Not sure yet I want to go that route, but the local Audi specialist tells me the suspension from the B7 3.0TDI will fit. Theoretically that should result in a very slight lift from stock height.

Re: Coding out front brake pad sensors
A couple of notes: -The wire you are looking for is on the passenger's side of RHD models, on the side farthest from the center. Between the door opening and where the dead pedal would be if it were a LHD. -I did not cut any wires like the OP suggested. Instead I just used a wire T-tap. That way it ...

Re: Coding out front brake pad sensors
I don’t have easy VAGCOM access, but had the same issue. After some research I discovered there is a wire you can tap and ground in the passenger footwell that will turn off the warning light. Very easy, took about 10 minutes.

Re: Car will not start
Agree with Mike, though when mine failed it failed the other way — I could start the car without depressing the clutch. Do note that there are two clutch switches, so I expect yours failed on the other one compared to mine. Which is good news since that’s the easier one to replace (though I don’t th...

Re: RS4 B7 Koni Shocks from CRS Performance
Hi All After owning my rs4 for the last 4 years I though I'd finally jump on here and get involved with the community. I jumped on the RS4 bandwagon way before the prices started to go insane but stupidly I left my car in my garage over covid and literally just pulled it out this year. Took it for ...

Re: RS4 B7 to R8 V10 Manual???
In my opinion, the B7 RS4 (Avant) is the almost perfect 1-car garage. It is fast, it is fun, it is practical, it is capable in all conditions, and it is fairly dependable as well. As soon as you start looking into owning more than 1 car, everything changes. As I said, if I'm having 1 car it is the B...

Re: Intermittent Brake warning light after new pads
Sorry I don't have any real input yet, but I am investigating the same issue on my car. Though in my case the warning has progressed from intermittent to constant.

Re: Flickering/weak connection to rear number plate and side light bulbs?
I had a similar problem with a flickering right rear light (no issues with the number plate light though). I had some gunk inside the ground terminal of the wiring connector between the car and light housing. Cleaning that out has solved the problem so far.
