Re: Limp Mode / rev limiter - without error code

Hi, Thanks for the reply. My independent sorted the issue but removing and re adding the map. Not completely sure of the issue but appeared to relate to coding out the flap error I was getting after being removed. Sorted in time to drive 1.5k to the Alps back, amazing drive. The RS4 was suited to th...

Re: Gear linkage rebuild kit

I've done a bit more research, I'll dump it here in case it's useful.

I think the part number is:
8e0798151b

Video on the issue
https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=deskt ... .%28JHM%29

Has anyone replaced this with the linkage in the car?

Thanks

Gear linkage rebuild kit

Hi, I've just replaced my shifter with a solid unit from JHM. https://www.mlperformance.co.uk/products/jhm-audi-b6-b7-solid-short-throw-shifter-s4-rs4 The old shifter ball joint was worn and disintegrating. The upgrade has made a difference. I still have some lateral slop in the gear shift. Doing so...

Re: 27k mile Avant on Collecting Cars

Super low mileage examples of the B7 more often than not will need a lot more money pumping into them than well maintained higher mileage examples. Sure the draw of a low mileage car will always be there and it would be pretty nice to own a B7 with 20,000 on the clock, but I never fully get the app...

Re: 27k mile Avant on Collecting Cars

Lovely. Mine is black with tinted, but I think it's less obvious. I'd have clear glass if I could choose.

To answer my own question looks like they did. Looks better IMHO.

Re: 27k mile Avant on Collecting Cars

Interesting.

I wonder if it would still need work on the DRC, I'm not sure if that's age or milage-related.

It seems to be a trade sale.

Random question, did they ever come with clear glass?

Re: R.I.P RS4 (insurance advice please)

Hi,

Sorry to hear this.

That's completely unacceptable I'd escalate within the company until you get an answer. Often insurers are under one group, maybe try the parent company and keep making yourself a massive nuisance until you get action.

Who's the insurer?

Good luck.

Re: Full Audi Service History - maintain or move on?

I think if I was buying again, I'd look for an enthusiast-owned car. Stamps from a well-known indy who specifically knows and is proven with B7 RS4s would be a plus in my book.

Re: Full Audi Service History - maintain or move on?

I wondered if the mileage was super low then it might be worth it.

I think you'll get better service from a good indy given that they will have recent and relevant experience of the older cars. Dealers are setup to work on the new stuff.

Be interested to see what people think.

Re: Limp Mode / rev limiter - without error code

Thanks.

The 7k warning goes off, so guess the temp sensor is working.

I agree, probably need the tuner to check it.

Re: Limp Mode / rev limiter - without error code

Is there a soft limiter? I thought you just had a polite message in the dash.

No this is when the car is fully warm.

I think it briefly goes away of you turn the car off.

Limp Mode / rev limiter - without error code

Hi, Any common reasons for the car going into limp mode (6.5k rev limiter) without showing an error code? I had a decoke and remap, after this I had a couple of flap error codes (P2020 & P2015) coded out. The rev limited seems to be on from start-up or at least as soon as you drive. Am I not seeing ...
