Check under the N/S/F chassis leg as there is a little water pump there.(well at least there is on mine).
Or it might be for the cooling fan module thing that also lives there.

Job well done by Ricky and his team at Watford. They’ve just got me out of trouble with an old Xj6 Jag PAS pipe and oil cooler pipe as well.

I literally order these about two weeks ago although my discs were £341.00 each but the pads were the same sort of price. I’m fitting mine this weekend. Yeah tap it from the red side but hit it where the bolt goes into the shaft then straighten the joint up and hit it from the other side with a soft hammer or use a drift on the joint where the shaft is sitting into it. Hope that makes sense. Have you got a vice to put it in?

Hi Chris Most Vag cars cv joints are just knock offs. They have a snap ring which just locks them in place. The method I use to get them off is knock it on first then hit the other side and it should just come off. If you have a copper hammer or dead blown use that so you don’t damage the joint also...

Do you have a sunroof ? If so could be a roof drain that’s leaking somewhere and running into the footwell. Check your boot as wel just in case.
