Thermostate often goes with the water pump. Mine hat cracks in the housing. It makes sense to change both.

I had a defective water pump as well as a misreading thermostate.
Common issue on those cars.

I don't really see why anyone would want to change the oil spec from that recommended by the vehicle manufacturer of their specific car. The only need of varying the spec (again recommended by the car manufacturer) is in different climates where external air temperatures are taken into consideratio...

Since the car runs at 110 - 120 °C oil temperature, I run 5W40. Ever since I got the car.
More specifcally ROWE Hightech RS Synth 5W40. A lot of the RS4 and RS5 guys in Germany run this oil.
But its not long life! Max 8 - 10.000 km.

Agree, the springs on my B9 valves are noticeably stronger the those on the B8 rear boxes.
When parking it in the garage you get a real metallic clack when the ignition is turned off.

Read the manual. You have to set your adjustment knob to a certain position for it to work. I believe you have to set it to the passenger mirror and then it will dip once reverse is engagend. If not, set it to the passanger mirror, put the car in reverse, adjust the mirror and put the car back in D ...

I am thinking about replacing my factory leather/alcantara seats with Recaro Sportster CS.
I am wondering whether anybody has gone this route? Does the fabric of the Recaro fit to the OEM Audi alcantara? Can I control the seat heating via the OEM button?

In Germany a lot of guys have moved away from the long life oils due to the residues in the engine (intake manifold).

I run Rowe HIGHTEC SYNTH RS SAE 5W-40 which I change every 10t kms or once a year. A lot of fellow RS4 and RS5 owners use this oil.
