AFAIK VW505 is for diesel engines NOT petrol engines. But that's "random bloke" on the internet for you.. You COULD always just look in your manual.. Oops. Just re-read the intro coe the gen2 and it says:

“ VW 511 00**

Off the top of my head, dot 5 is the only silicone based fluid and it cannot be mixed with anything else. I wouldn't recommend using it if the car doesn't call for it.
