Re: Looking at buying a 2003 RS6 - a couple questions

IMG_0900.jpeg It’s your car Adi. If you want to do the Cambelt and water pump at 10-11 year interval that’s up to you. Surprised there hasn’t been a bang and a fooked engine after 10 years. I will stick to the recommended 4 yearly or 40000 miles interval. I would hate myself if I ruined the engine ...

Re: Looking at buying a 2003 RS6 - a couple questions

Hi Suz. I would just add. I also do the thermostat and extra roller that’s not included in the kit every time I do the timing belt. Good point on water pump. To date I have not removed a pump with the plastic impeller. Mine have all been metal. Unit 20 have done my Cambelts and water pumps. Hi allro...

Re: Brake lines

They also confirmed that the avant and sedan are the same Like you I have gone for front and rear flexible hoses. Ordered them today. 2-3 days delivery. Then get the h...

Re: Brake lines

Cheers buddy. Yes I will get new flexi hoses.
Looked at
Hel
Ebc
Forge motorsport
They all look good

I have opted for HEL stainless steel in carbon fibre look on the outer sleeve. Lifetime warranty.

Re: Brake lines

Cheers Matt. I did my own copper brake lines donkeys years ago. On an escort iirc.
I didn’t know if things had moved on since then.

Will have to get them done soon.

Brake lines

Hi all.
What is the best way to replace our brake pipes.

I presume the originals are steel. But most garages want to use copper. I presume copper is much easier to work with.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Re: Rear view mirror sticky pad

Yeah mate that’s worth a try first. New windscreen can be a bigger problem. All depends on the installation fitter. Had mine done and I wasn’t happy. Had a gap each end. They fitted a A6 screen which isn’t the same size. Shortly after got two pebbles kicked up by a truck in front of me. Then fitted ...

Re: Rear view mirror sticky pad

Paul from memory. To remove the mirror you turn the mirror approx 45 degrees acw. With the mirror removed the post remains on the windscreen. From your photo is that the post that has come away from the screen ? It should by bonded to the screen. Which is very secure. Double sided tape etc is not st...

Re: Rear view mirror sticky pad

Paul. As Shopp says. Even had a new windscreen. And the fixing comes already bonded to the screen. And it is well and truly bonded. Had to use molegrips in the past to turn the mirror to remove it. Suitable packing used so you don’t damage the plastic. Like when I fitted the “mirror John”, upgraded ...

Re: Spare wheels for my wagon

I used to carry a full size spare wheel. Took up too much space and after a year I never used it. Now I carry a puncture repair kit, air compressor, jack and tools to remove repair and re install the wheel. Haven’t had to use them on mine. But I have helped a few other people out. Original Tyre size...

Re: Help with sourcing vac lines etc.

IMG_0840.png If you zoom in on the photo. The part no is on the box. 077 121 599A. There was some confusion at the time with the last letter. But I was assured that is the correct pump. Bought from Audi Tradition IIRC. Someone on here fitted this pump and recommended it. So I bought one for when an...
