Re: Aftermarket brake discs and pads

Hi Joe, There was a member 'Uplandsway' who went for the Vagbre ones. I have a feeling he has sold his car now as he hasnt posted on here for a while, but might be worth dropping him a PM as he is a very helpful chap! Have a look at this thread here https://forum.rs246.com/viewtopic.php?f=76&t=1332...

Aftermarket brake discs and pads

It’s nearly time for me to change the brake discs and pads. I’ve had a good search in the site and know that many folk have had issues fitting oem discs I.e. warping. Question is what aftermarket discs and pads should you go for? I’ve been having a look at the different options online Vagbremtechnic...

Re: Just renewed Audi Extended Warranty... Result!!

Always good to have a warranty Lig!! I took an independent warranty out when I bought mine last year. Warranty was with Autoguard. Premium warranty was £1500 for 2 years. When I had the turbo failure they paid out 7k of the 8k bill with very little issues. I did get the PCV valve done, new oil feed ...

Re: Water in drivers footwell

My 65 plate RS6 is in With Audi at the moment with he same issue. Leaking pan roof. They say they can’t find the leak and must do a full leak test even after me instructing them to just replace the sunroof cassette. Expecting some good will gesture towards the bill!! Becoming more and more common un...

Re: Water in passenger footwell

Tell me about it Lig! Been a nightmare but I won’t be beaten by it. Reminds me of my old Impreza, spent more time in the garage than on the driveway. Apparently the bonding between the metal and plastic plates fails over time (bad design). If the car is parked with the bonnet facing downhill the wat...

Re: Water in passenger footwell

Yeah Lig, drainage holes are clear. The cassette is where the sunroof sits and operates from. Looking online shows that this is a fairly common issue on A6s with pan roof. The garage had 2 other A6s in with the same issue thismorning. £2.2k for new cassette and labour charges. Went to Glasgow Audi t...

Re: Water in passenger footwell

So.......it appears to be the dreaded sunroof cassette that’s leaking. 😤

That is good to hear!!!

It will be much easier to get the wheel \ wheel arch liner off etc to get to the drain plugs when its in the garage on the ramp!!

Cheers,
Lig.
Think I might just let the garage sort it. Being lazy 😂

Re: Water in passenger footwell

Hi Joe, I had this happen on my old BMW and yes turned out to be a blocked drain hole, so I reckon sandy is right. Useful vid that too - Cheers Sandy. On the BM the bung was under the cover by the windscreen wipers, so you got to it by opening the bonnet and removing the rear bonnet seal then the p...

Re: Water in passenger footwell

Cheers Sandy, will have a look at it tomorrow when I get a chance. Used the wet vac on the carpets and had the heaters on full blast yesterday which has dried the carpets out. Mission tomorrow is to find the drain holes and make sure they are clear.

Water in passenger footwell

Came back from offshore today to find the passenger front and rear foot wells soaking wet!!! Can see tell tale signs of water that’s appears to have been dripping down from the passenger front plastic in the footwell nearest the door, just under the glove box. Any ideas what might be causing this? T...

So if you even not expecting any issues you should ask Audi dealer to check turbos and oil strainer? Will they agree to look if there is no codes nothing?
Probably not knowing main dealers. From my experience main dealers won’t do anything that they see as “unnecessary”

Re: Misfire

Got the car back thismorning and it’s running like a dream so far. Long may it last this time. Much different to drive from when I first picked it up. Power delivery is so much improved and much sharper on full boost. Would recommend A for Audi in Glasgow to anyone that’s having issues with their ca...

Re: Misfire

Will be getting it back mid November when I’m back from offshore. Had a nightmare fight with the warranty cover but eventually they have agreed to pay out approx 80% of the total claim. Been a fight backwards and forwards to get them to agree as they only wanted to pay out for the 2 turbo units (no ...
