Engine Warning Light / OBD
Hi All I've got an engine warning light on. Wasn't sure if the car was OK to drive to the Audi dealer (it's still full dealer service history...) so I bought one of these: https://smile.amazon.co.uk/dp/B081635ZLF It's not picking up any codes. Is there something unusual about B7s that I need a diffe...

Flickering Left Bulb on B7 RS4
Hi All, I've been advised this is most likely a controller problem rather than the bulb. I phoned Audi and gave them my reg number and they said the part I needed was 8P0907391. Before I go and buy a new one (ouch) I thought I'd better check: 1) is the controller the most likely cause ? It's only ha...

B7 RS4 Centre Console and Phone Cradle
Hi, The console is in good condition, and has the holes cut at the back for the centre arm rest (dealer fit). It's a from a double-din car. I looked on ebay and it seems the consoles go for about £50 and the cradles for about £30-50. Asking £60. Not sure what the postage would be, and the console is...

Re: Modern Head Units - Kenwood, Pioneer, etc.
Thanks Kenwood DMX7017DABS seems to be well respected, so I'll probably go with that unless there's a better recommendation ? I might even have a go at fitting it...what could possibly go wrong... Is there a particular ISO adapter kit you used for the rns-e replacement ? There seem to be quite a few...

Re: Modern Head Units - Kenwood, Pioneer, etc.
So...I've spoken to a few car audio places (some of them *much* dodgier than expected) and it seems like quite an involved job to fit a new head unit with DAB and handsfree. My car already has the bluetooth handsfree though - is there a way to use the existing microphone or do they really have to fi...

Re: Modern Head Units - Kenwood, Pioneer, etc.
Thanks ! What do the "Car" and "Setup" buttons do then ? I must confess I couldn't see that they did anything useful, but just assumed they did !

Modern Head Units - Kenwood, Pioneer, etc.
Hi,
How much functionality do you lose if you fit one of these in an RS7 ? I don't mind losing SATNAV and CD Changer, but it sounds like I'll lose the ECU connection for car settings etc ? Are any head units more integrated than others ?

Re: Replace CD Autochanger with DAB/USB/Bluetooth
Just spoke to a dension supplier. It sounds like their DAB unit re-broadcasts on FM which I was trying to avoid. So Dension is just for BT/USB.

Wing Mirror Bolt Thingies
Hi Does anyone know the part number for the weird little bolts that go into the wing mirror brackets ? Have a conical end on them that pushes into the spring clip inside the mirror housing. I managed to find a kit that has all the fitting parts - 8E0 898 011 - but no part number for just the bolt. F...

Replace CD Autochanger with DAB/USB/Bluetooth
Hi Has anyone successfully managed to get more modern audio options without replacing the head unit ? There seem to be quite a few gadgets out there but little in the way of reviews, and the properly integrating ones seem to be for the 8K models rather than 8E. I've got the Bose system with satnav a...

Re: First RS
It's a backdate - the cars barely changed from 1968 to 1989 so a lot of the older panels fit the later air-cooled cars. I bought what I thought was a really solid 3.2 Carrera but it turned out to be mostly rust held together with a shiny new paint job. Resto thread from hell is here: http://www.ddk-...
