Re: Normal oil and coolant temperatures

FWIW standard coolant temp on the dashboard always stays at 90 here and on vcds I get a stable 98°C when engine hot. For the oil temp, on the dashboard it depends on the driving, but never goes above 110 here. For peace of mind I would replace the oil temp sensor (can't remember if it's easy to acce...

Re: Injector cleaning - should I bother?

Glad it helps. Of course filters and white plastic noses have to be removed before ultrasonic cleaning (otherwise some dirt may stay inside...) and changed for new ones after the fact. You'll find those on Ali for a penny, or here ( https://www.ebay.fr/itm/121834983756?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=709-127...

Re: 7zap.com

Good news gentlemen : 7Zap is back on line!

A question for nerds : is there a way to make a local copy of the pages related to our car? I've tried with http://www.httrack.com/ but no success so far.

Re: 7zap.com

Same here, I really miss the original 7Zap site. Strangely enough, I've tried to make a local copy not long before this ^^ happens, but got stuck in my uneducated attempts for some reasons..

Re: N80 upside down? Got doubts

lol I sure will! Actually, due to the passive non-return valves (parts #23 in green in the pic below), air can only go one direction : from the canister to the engine. Except if something is broken, there's no way round this. Sorry if I wasn't clear in my explanation, but having said the above ^^, v...

Re: N80 upside down? Got doubts

We totally agree on how the thing functions. Now, without the help of any arrow (I'll check as soon as I'm back home later this week), would you also agree on how it should be installed = blocking direction against air flow?

Re: N80 upside down? Got doubts

Thanks for the comment, I'll search for any arrow or signs for air flow direction!
Nevertheless I remain firm there's a blocking direction whereas the other allows air to pass provided enough pressure / vaccum is applied.

Re: N80 upside down? Got doubts

Thanks for the pic Shopp! Mine is no longer the oem one which died but the Bosch equivalent. Supposedly they should be identical in terms of function, but they may have the electrical connector the other way round, hence the question. I stupidly throw the oem one away so I can't tell for sure. Anywa...

N80 upside down? Got doubts

Hi,

Am I wrong to believe the N80 (item 35) is not correctly depicted and seems upside-down (=connector towards the left) on this picture? How is yours?

Image

Thanks!

Re: Carbon fibre

Argh, these are lovely but real bad timing for me due to many other expenses to cover.. I'm already regretting the decision, but hopefully there will be a way to get a pair later?

Re: Pressure relief valve : how does it work?

Kind of matches my 'findings' : with the vacuum cleaner put on the side of the valve, I can see the piston moving up (actually down when the valve is mounted..), but the flow is definitely not cut. It feels like more restricted but honestly hard to tell without real measurements. Honestly it's still...

Re: Pressure relief valve : how does it work?

Thank you Shopp. So what you're saying is that if I close one end and apply vaccum on the other end, it should block the flow when releasing the blocked end. Will try tonight

Re: Pressure relief valve : how does it work?

Hi Technik,

I've got 2 sets - 4 in total- of those, and except if they are all broken (could be!) they let air go through both ways at standard pressure. So no, it's not a non-return valve, although there's one in the ventilation system (part #16).
