Others may disagree, but the failure mode of the DRC is not normally squeaks. A failing DRC tends to knock. A "loose golf ball in the boot" is a commonly compared noise. Is a noise linked to rotation or lateral movement? That should help narrow down the issue, i.e. rotor assembly Vs suspension
