Re: Tyres - Whats everybody getting

Just gone to conti from Bridgestone s007’s. Bridgestones lasted an amazing 22k, and they only start at 7mm! Inside edges wore out first. First impression of conti’s are less noise but also less grip but.

Re: Misting Front Shocks - DRC

If the car won’t pass mot, or drc is not doing its job anymore I would scrap the system for an adjustable setup that you can tune to your style. The drc is great, but a well setup coilover with reduced ride height and correct sized roll bars will be more rewarding. All shocks on heavy car eventually...

Re: 100000 miles and still going strong!

Good to see, you only hear horror stories and these cars are rare. If you get a drc fault get full coil overs and there is a company in Bristol that will do a swap for recon on the gearbox if needed.

Re: Alarm/Immobiliser advice

Deterrent only, Disc lock is the current trend it takes time and noise to get off but I would also consider a big ass security light and some cctv. Other options just cause damage to your car while they find out how to get it started...

Re: Whining noise under no acceleration

This went on mine recently, it’s a diy job if you can get the part number. Only does it when up to temp as the engine starts pulling a vacuum through the crank case

Re: PCV valve

If you unscrew the oil cap does it stop? if yes, you need the part.

Right hand side, specialist got it so no idea. Defo a diy job, vat and labour always bumps up the price.

Re: PCV valve

It’s a whistle that comes on tick over, or coasting below 2k. There are 2 valves, one is physically pulling a vacuum through the breather hole suggesting the diaphragm is gone. Cars not pulling oil through like you say, I think this is because there are two on the b8, where there was only 1 on the b...
