Late to the thread but having had an 8P RS3 for 4 year I thought I'd chip in. It depends on what you want from a car. The tech is dated but isn't from the dark ages. Looks wise if you took the front from the 8P and the rear from the 8V it would be spot on. Limited numbers help the 8P on residuals. ...

The golf drives better, but agree there are a lot about due to cheap lease deals. Focus in black, etc. Not the blue. M140/240i on one of the cheap deals? A45? What is the budget? Agree the 5 pot sounds amazing and truly iconic for Audi. Mate has new A45 AMG (new as in a bit more BHP/boost) still so...

To be fair- slightly put off. But only slightly. Another £13k gets the 8V which won't be a downgrade from the RS5 inside... a lot of money though!

No I agree. The S3 saloon is a beautiful machine. But dog would die in the boot [emoji23]. Love the 4 pipes as well. And can get with the virtual console... but the 5 pot..

Yeah they do. And obviously rs3 saloon on route as well.

Doesn't have that 5 pot sound though. And having driven a golf R assume the same??

Liked the idea of somewhere for the dog if needed (the boot!!)

Yes driven the 8V. With dynamic pack. Great car. But out of my price range! Hence the idea of the earlier model.. You are right about the looks though...

Have you driven the 8V variant doodlebug?

Had a b7 rs4 before the rs5. Epic car. But stuck in traffic too much so wanted the dual clutch!!
