Re: Diy oil pump removal?

So the above pump shaft doesn't look to be the issue, the front most part of the oil pump has been pulled apart to replace the racetrack seal. https://imgur.com/a/Ap5OsLU The issue is the plunger and spring combo circled in the linked images Would any of you experienced hands know should there be an...

Re: Diy oil pump removal?

No special procedure and no priming required - the pump is the lowest part of the lubrication system so in effect self-primes when the oil is added. I'd concur with Ian's suspicion that the drive shaft hasn't been fitted correctly. Silly question - Can you ask your mate to make sure that when the p...

Re: Diy oil pump removal?

Evening gents I'm after a bit of info if possible, couldn't see anything directly related from a quick search A mate has done the oil pump seal as he had an oil leak and he can’t get it to make oil pressure now it’s rebuilt. Is there a method for priming the oil pump or any ways to bleed the oil sys...

Re: track days/ airfield days/ Autobahn runs

I'm not too keen on this channel because of the head cam, but this guy has no fear and keeps his foot down longer than most. He just got 356 km/h / 221 mph indicated out of a 780 BHP RS6, presumably with stock turbos. I wonder if that's the fastest that an RS6 has gone? He seemed to be very keen on...

Re: Best place to buy replacement propshaft

Yeh, its the rubber that's shot, but the problem is now that i think the bearing piece is moulded into the shaft, so it's this that's causing the issue just now. I have the replacement bushing, but the machine shop is still struggling with trying the split the shaft. Hi Ian...thanks for the info. T...

is it the bearing that has failed or just the rubber Yeh, its the rubber that's shot, but the problem is now that i think the bearing piece is moulded into the shaft, so it's this that's causing the issue just now. Re: Oil leak in top of engine

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum. In The Netherlands i did not find a very active forum to talk about the RS6 C6. I hope someone can help/advice me. I have a 2008 RS6, engine is original (only stage 1 tuned) and is good serviced. I saw some oil laying on top of the engine. My first thought wa...

Re: Gearbox issue (again)

forcing it's way into 6th gear for safety I cant imagine this statement ringing true in any sense other than the gearbox may appear to upshift to limit the revs to 2K; in which case its likely not the gearbox forcing this upshift, but the engine ECU AFAIK Gearbox limp mode is basically stay in thir...

Re: Gearbox issue (again)

There's a lot happening in this thread... Am i correct in thinking this all started with 'Cant select Reverse'? Followed by 'had some work done', followed by 'Paddles not functioning', with 'Code P1719 (gearbox limited due to engine fault that you cant find)' and 'quickly changing up through to 6th...

Re: Gearbox issue (again)

Why have the flaps been removed in the first place? Sent from my SM-S908B using Tapatalk I had mine removed because they continuously jumped out of place, I had them re positioned several times now but it's gotten to the stage where it's better off without them as they're clearly a failure point. I...

Re: Gearbox issue (again)

No the original problem we believe is still there. Yes replaced the solenoids and the problem seemed to still be there but now is quickly changing gears to sixth as quick as it can. And yes all the seals were replaced was done by a local garage to me. Will not be using them again. Adam I've the sam...

Re: Running Costs of a C6 RS6

Replacement of a rear DRC hose, recharge of that half of the system and replacement of the suspension spring that side as the service department said that it was broken. Can't confirm that it was as I didn't see it. Normally replacing a spring would have been DiY for me but I was due to visit my da...

Re: Clunky steering when cold

This is when stationary though. So can't really be any of those. Dry steering is a bad habit, I'd say if you're doing it regularly then the rack will have undergone excessive wear and tear Try a fluid flush first, could be the rack is knackered though Could still be heat shields if stationery though

Re: Clunky steering when cold

I chased quite a few clunks in mine lol Driveshaft internals had snapped I assume and were rattling about like ball bearings DRC can be clunky too, especially when cold I find it's noisier The wheels can click from what I remember too, this was a case of the hub faces being contaminated, and could b...
