Re: Diy oil pump removal?
I was watching a video on the internet about the dry sump oil pumps on the Audi V10 engines by REPerformance ( link to video ) and I noticed at the 15 minute mark it was mentioned that the bolts securing the coolant thermostat housing to the coolant pump housing, and the coolant pump housing to the ...

Re: How to correctly relieve pressure from HPFP ?
Does someone has experience with the pressure relief from the high pressure fuel pumps or can at least confirm that pulling the fuse 1 on the fusebox does work or not work ? Many thanks. Hi, I have done this a couple of times on my car, quite some time ago now though (I replaced the solenoid valves...

Jim, The closest I have found at the moment is; N__908_170_03 - Copy.PNG An image is available here (https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-volkswagen-audi-parts/torx-bolt-priced-each/n90817003/), but it doesn't look like the same screw as it looks like it has more of a flanged head than the one in you...

The pistons are in 2 different diameters;
2 - 34mm,
4 - 36mm.

Re: Front diff / Transfer case oil change.
just make sure you remove the fill/inspection plug before draining it to make sure you can refill it. The most important part of a great post there Douglas!!! Yes! I've heard of a few people learning that the hard way! Fortunately I didn't have any bother taking them off, but just in case. There is...

Re: HELP - Front Caliper Pistons and seals
Problem is that a lot of the impact is absorbed by movement in the arm bushes. What you need to do is damp it by having an assistant hold a heavy hammer tight against the opposite side of the arm - something I learned many, many years ago when I had to remove wedge cotter pins on a regular basis. C...

Re: Front diff / Transfer case oil change.
I meant to update this sooner, but anyway here it is. The rear diff is very easy to drain and replace - just make sure you remove the fill/inspection plug before draining it to make sure you can refill it. About 850ml or so came out and about 1.2 litres to fill it back up to level. I used part numbe...

Re: HELP - Front Caliper Pistons and seals
I cant source them anywhere so far. Brembo dont even list the caliper on line. I have sent them a tech request for info. There is someone on ebay in Germany selling a kit but not a Brembo kit and its 150 quid per side. I have had an absolute mare today changing the discs, not due to the discs thats...

The part - 036 103 193 - is the same part that was fitted from factory, at least, to both Jim's car and my car. The new one I got is shown below; 036_103_193 - Copy.JPG The seal ring I bought - N 013 815 7 - is not flat - instead it is cylindrical, like a doughnut. It is shown below; N__013_815_7 - ...

Anyone using a AGM battery in their C6 RS6? My battery is on the way out (Varta I6) and I have a new AGM battery... Any issues fitting these? According to the VARTA website battery finder here they list an AGM battery as a replacement for our cars. I replaced mines last year with a Bosch S5 battery...

Re: Front diff / Transfer case oil change.
Yeah, located the fill holes for the front diff. Quite tricky to get to. Hi, Did you manage to get both the transfer box and final drive drained and filled? Did you have to remove the tunnel crossmember and the gearbox support to be able to access the fill plug at the transfer box? I'm asking as I'...

Re: Engine oil thermostat sealing plug
When I first changed the oil I went into the local dealers and asked the parts manager (whose knowledge I've trusted for years) for a few sets of all the seals that I'd need. What he gave me were a load of alloy washers in 2 different sizes - one size for the round plugs and one size for the hex-pl...
