Re: Mad high price!!!
I agree, far to high a price. Probably worth about £12-13k when fixed (assuming a good job) as category S. My quote for repairs was £2500 labour, £1000 paint (both plus VAT), plus parts. Quote for new parts was up to £10k, secondhand parts difficult to source. It's final act was to look after me as ...

Re: Mad high price!!!
Used to be my car, written off after a crash in January.
Loved it, but decided I need to stop haemorrhaging cash, so currently in an i30N fastback, it's just not doing anything for me so far, but what would!

Re: Oil leak
Thanks for the replies, interesting.
I must say I am wary of adding the Forte to the oil, is there any negatives to this?
Otherwise it seems like a trip to Banbury may be on the cards.

Oil leak
Chaps, I'm finally going have to get the oil leak fixed, as a very gentle weep is now accelerating to oil under the car when I park. My question, is there anywhere near me that have experience with this job? I am located in Epping, Essex, just outside the M25 (About 1 'O' Clock if you understand ana...

Re: Brake vibration
All joints have been checked and some replaced about a year ago Jim. Pads may have been from a bad batch, difficult to prove though. I took the car out last night and did lots of 60mph to 20 brakes. The only effect was the pedal eventually became a little soft , vibration actually seemed to get wors...

Brake vibration
Hi chaps. I had my front discs (from Audi) replaced about a 1000 miles ago, and Ferodo DS2500 pads. I could not really bed them in as described on here at the time as it was slippery on the roads, and to much traffic. I then developed a vibration through the steering wheel while braking, worse at ab...

Re: Tyres
Toady,
I would get your suspension bushes checked, I had the same inside edge wear, which should not be so extreme. Turned out I needed both top arms on each side replacing. The same thing will happen to your new tyres if you have alignment problems too.

Re: coolant pipe repair/replacment in surrey/hampshire
Hi, I had my pipes replaced by PMW Motors in Epping, Essex, in December 2017, for around £800 including original parts, very happy with their work. They said it was a hell of a job, with the engine in situ, but it was done. MRC quoted me £3000-4000 in 2017 for the same job, engine out, which they sa...

Re: Coolant pipe corrosion
Chaps, I have just had the coolant pipes in my 2008 C6 at my local garage in Epping Essex. It was not booked in for that (was having Service, MOT, and front suspension arms), the mechanic noticed some weeping from the drivers side wheel arch. When they phoned to tell me, they had already done the jo...

Re: iPhone Compatibility
An update, I bought a ViseeO Tune2Air WMA3000A, from eBay, £60 (cheap as a working returned item). It works well with music stored on my iPhone 6s, the MMI display showing songs etc. Using Spotify it streams the music, but you have to use the phone to cue the music, as the interface does not allow r...

iPhone Compatibility
Hello, I am a relatively new owner of a lovely blue RS6 C6 Avant. Although I am revelling in the power, build quality, and style, I am frustrated that I cannot play music from my iPhone 6 through the cable provided. I have updated the software to the 5570 version, but that did not help. An old iPod ...
