Re: Standard steel discs and pads.. How long should they last?
A timely post for me. Mine have just come back as 98%worn. Can’t see it myself. Discs are also marked as urgent. I’m at 42k and (including the originals ) this will be my 3rd set of discs and pads. Harsh driving? I get 16-18k out of a set of tyres so I can’t be that harsh.

Re: Rs6 vs Mercedes e63s wagon
RS4/5 aren't being trounced by other manufacturers same model class! Rs6 is and if they don't do something very special they could loose the market on big powerhouse estates. Looking at the 7, the 19" RS6 is looking to be 700+ bhp.

Re: Rs6 vs Mercedes e63s wagon
I tested the new E63s last week. The interior and display were in another level compared to the Audi. However performance was not. I appreciate on paper it's faster but the take off thump was not there. It was more of a waft to 60 than a sprint. Then comes the looks... it's just not there for me. Gr...

Re: Scored discs
In fact I have just checked the Audi cam again, they are not even close to flat. Is there an Audi tech on here that can confirm worn dimples are the indicator of a worn out disc?

Re: Scored discs
Mine were not worn flat, I was told they needed replacing anyway.

Re: Shocking customer service.
Same response then. That's our decision, it's final and if you don't like it, go to the motor ombudsman. They work on the fact that 99% of customers won't bother. Not me though, going for data access with full transcripts which I'll publish along with a review of my RS6 and the 5 weeks it has spent ...

Re: Squeaky brakes
I won't carry on moaning but I have an ongoing argument with Audi. Almost down to metal on one side, the other side hadn't even tripped the pad warning light. Heavily scored discs too. Audi are adamant it's perfectly normal and within parameters! I have been waiting 2 weeks now for them to put it in...

Re: Scored discs
Does anyone know what thickness the discs need to be at for Audi to say they need replacing? I'm 700 miles into my bed discs and I have a good old lip starting already! Be interesting to know how much I have lost and how much is left.

Re: Shocking customer service.
I should also point out that this was in for a service. I had no reason to take it in or believe there was anything wrong with the brakes. Pure luck really.

Re: Shocking customer service.
Funnily enough my discs and pads are going the same way with the front offside wearing at a much quicker rate than the near side. Brake caliper gets 10 deg. C hotter on the offside indicating some kind of increased friction. I've had Audi look at it and they aren't interested in entertaining any id...

Re: Shocking customer service.
I know, but what's the point of having a car like this when they treat you like this! I don't want to leave the brand but they are making it very hard to stay.

Re: Shocking customer service.
Blade Audi in Cheltenham. Staff are wonderful and I have no issue but with scored discs front and rear which their master tech says is normal and the uneven pad wear, it's a bit silly. I'll pop up and see the dealer principal but sadly, I am popping in to Mercedes tomorrow to look at the E63s. When ...

Shocking customer service.
So an Audi master technician has decided that it's within tolerance for one side of the car to have brake pads on metal while the other side hadn't even tripped the brake pad warning sensor. That's from Audi uk. If I wish to take it further I have to go through the motor ombudsman service. I'm so di...

Re: New RS7!!!
Just nice to see some figures. I was at the RS5 launch in Cheltenham last month, the group sales manager had no idea about the next RS6. It had to beat the other GermNs by a significant margin to retain the crown and it looks to be doing that. What struck me is how Audi seem to be narrowing gaps. Th...

New RS7!!!
Oh my god! If this is what's coming out the Audi stable for the 2019 RS6, take my money!! Imagine all the M5 and E63 customers who have ordered one for 2018, they'll be gutted. Looks like Audi had no intention of relinquishing the family rocket title. It's got to go sub 3 seconds. https://drivetribe...
