Re: Time to depart

Just to round this off the car went on Saturday to a guy I know well through work. His Dream Car and a chance meeting months ago led to that discusssion so he was the first person I approached as I knew it would go to a careful and very experienced (ex Class 1 Police driver - they really do know how...

That’s it….for now.

After much deliberation and a new business venture (which I need to put money into) I’ve moved on from the R8 after just over 1 year of ownership. All in I did around 3500 miles, at least 1k of that was by the missus as I work away a lot. Not many miles for sure but these tend to be part of a collec...

Re: £20k UK car

Have to say the Bonhams one looks pretty immaculate but then again 54k odd miles in 21 years is pretty spectacular. It is a good step in the right direction and tracking some of the asking prices of £7-9k online has been pretty depressing I have to say. I think it’s the fear of being a money pit tha...

Time to depart

Alas after around 1 year of ownership I’m looking to move the girl on. This was ‘Matt’s’ old car which needs no introduction on here. A new business venture means I need to get a 4 x 4 to lug stuff around over long distances and the 6 won’t cut it (fuel bills alone would cripple me) and need to free...

Re: Current C5 RS6 residual values

Another has popped up at Ionic auctioneers. Another saloon, grey. 58k so low mileage. https://www.iconicauctioneers.com/2003-audi-rs6-quattro-auto-rec14456-1-nec-0325?pn=1&el=31733&pp=100 Nice low miles albeit with an odd aftermarket exhaust (who has round pipes on an RS? I’d get quad exhausts but ...

Re: Current C5 RS6 residual values

They are in the awkward phase of just being old and expensive to keep running. Prices really haven't moved since I first bought mine. Retail was £7-8k for a poor one and about £12-13k for a minty low mileage one. It still is. The saloons are already pretty rare but apparently nobody wants those and...

Re: Current C5 RS6 residual values

I hear you and the C6 is a lump, I had the saloon version and lost very little money on that (like my F80 M3 Comp). As always the non forum classifieds are filled with some very ropey looking cars that would just drain you (hence why I bought Matt’s old C5 which is still running well albeit needing ...

Current C5 RS6 residual values

Has anyone noticed how much the residuals have fallen for the cars recently?! Seeing what (at face value) seem to be pretty well sorted cars on low-ish mileage going for £8-10k. Even Plus models that were in the 20’s now seem to be going for around 13-15k. I know the car market this past number of y...

Re: RS6, 48k miles, 750bhp/940tor, fsh…£24995

I would hold out for a sale on here. Punting anything tasty on A/T opens you up to the world of chancers, bluffers, buffoons and time wasting sh5tbags. Have you had ‘what’s your best price’ Yet? I HATE selling cars on Autotrader. And R/S cars also attract certain types who will offer you a mind blow...

Re: AMG E63S estate review

Thank you for such a detailed review. I’m curious how much the "Race" mode impacted fuel consumption. Achieving 32.5 mpg on the highway for a beast like this sounds impressive. I’m also interested in your thoughts on residual value. Do you think current V8 models might become more sought after in t...

Re: 4 months ownership thoughts and photos

You'll get plenty Corsa toerags asking for a rev, guy rolled his window down as I approached a roundabout last week and asked me to do the same, duly obliged after knocking it into neutral... You'll be busy with that one [emoji1] Sent from my SM-S918B using Tapatalk Ha ha yes had that many a time w...

Re: 4 months ownership thoughts and photos

Motor looks amazing Steve, good shout with the carbon wraps. Boy I knew had one, talk about quick, he's a nightmare with cars, he changes them like he does his knickers, once every 6 months..he's now downgraded in my opinion to a black 22 plate M5 and that is a very good car, but still, it ain't an...

4 months ownership thoughts and photos

Just crossed the 4 month mark and despite this being a bit of a ‘tumbleweed’ section of the forum here are my thoughts: I came from a very different car-E63s AMG estate which was pretty lairy and bombastic. The R8 was an itch to scratch and so far I’m deeply impressed. Completely different car and d...
