Re: Outdoor car cover recommendations
I bought a stormshield + outdoor cover from specialisedcovers.com back in April with no complaints. A bit pricey but fits perfect and had no issues with scratches. My car used to be in the garage until the wife started running her business from there, so the car was outside getting dust, bird crap a...

Re: Oil cooler - ticking time bomb?
Recently installed new OEM hoses and a Radtec cooler. Greased the o-rings and they slide into the oil ports quite easily, impressed with the Radtec cooler which is good quality and a fraction of the OEM cooler cost.

Re: Cabriolet Vibration Issues
I can't think of engine mounts being the problem, if that was the case you could sit still and rev the engine up slowly and feel the vibration through the steering wheel? What about swapping the front wheels to the back and vice-versa then give that a test on the road. It does sound like a wheel or ...

Re: Does replacing DRC components result in other DRC parts failing?
Hi Mark, There are a few factors to consider when trying to answer your question. Why have you been advised that the rear shocks need replacing? Have the shocks failed completely eg. Burst seal, loss of substantial amount of oil, total loss of pressure and heavy knocking ? If a complete failure of ...

Re: DRC: While you’re in there jobs
There's central valves going for a good price on ebay from the US. I bought two and no drama, parts arrived quite quickly. I have to be honest and say I've not opened the box yet to have a look at them https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-OEM-Audi-RS4-2007-2008-Front-Variable-Shock-Central-Valve-8E0-616-8...

Re: NSR fog bulb ‘issue’
If possible, try taking the fog lamp unit that's working from the o/s and plugging it into the n/s to see if it works, or even swap both to find out if it's the unit or a wiring fault.

Re: Replacing DRC Shocks
Yes that's the last time I'll be taking it to Glasgow Audi for a service, as you say all it was for was to get the dealer stamp in the service book, but it does the car no favours when rushed through a simple service and no attention paid to detail. I've used A for Audi before for the missus VW so m...

Re: Replacing DRC Shocks
Very interesting read lads, I asked Glasgow Audi back in march if they could drain, refill & charge the system purely for a bit of TLC but they shied away from the work stating if I don't have any issues then we advise to leave it alone. They don't fill me with confidence anyway as the car came out ...

Re: Replacing DRC Shocks
I still have DRC and don't know it's history with previous owners, though after covering 11k miles during my 5yr ownership it's still ok, but i know its only a matter of time before I have to make the same decision whether to keep or replace. There's alot of separate components that make DRC work (a...

LED foglamp upgrade....Admitted defeat
Decided to have a go at installing LED H11 bulbs into the front fogs even after reading the issues that can crop up, and yes after installing LED CANBUS error free bulbs I started the car up and both left & right fog errors appeared the dash. I went a step further and ordered plug & play resistors w...

I've done it a couple of times and followed the good write up on here under the FAQ's thread. It's not a difficult test to run through

Ah ok Simon, that kind of rules that out then...strange it cuts out at 6K? maybe even try a vacuum function test with your vcds and check everything works as it should

Re: Help with fault code - 01314 - Engine Control Module
Maybe a bit of a long shot, but what about fitting a new MAF sensor? I've heard of it bringing on the TC lamp permanently when it goes faulty, and possibly with the car not getting used its not reading properly now....just a thought as an easy part to replace, and not too expensive compared to ECU's.
