Re: TPMS Error Code 01521 after 10mins of driving
I regularly but at random intervals get two errors: 01467 Orca slicer Front Left Tire Pressure Sensor (G222) 004 - No Signal/Communication - Intermittent - MIL ON and 01521 - Sensor for Tire Pressure 004 - No Signal/Communication - Intermittent - MIL ON The FL sensor is the only one which I have ye...

Re: RS6 C6 – Preventive maintenance tips?
After 9 years, mine is still my daily - although now I'm retired it's mostly just short local journeys. Today, I covered some 16 miles instead of the daily 60 mile round trip commute I used to do. Yes, they can be trouble free for a while, other than a split DRC pipe which also revealled a broken re...

Re: RS6 C6 – Preventive maintenance tips?
a sensible business decision. Not only do REP have to warranty their work they've also got a reputation of doing things properly to uphold so when some random clip breaks during a job they have to ensure it's replaced whereas a DiYer can leave it to be fixed at some point in the future - or not a a...

Re: Correct battery for C6 RS6 V10
All the quality brands are much the same. The battery function in the car needs to know there's a new battery so yes, it needs coding - but all that has to be done is to skip on the current code by one digit, there's no validation or anything like that.

Re: RS6 C6 – Preventive maintenance tips?
Some (not all) jobs can be done with the engine in place but are far easier with it taken out. For a DiYer it's a balancing thing - with the engine in place the task will be awkward, painful, frustrating and will take all day whereas with the engine out it'll be straight forward and take an hour plu...

Except - the linked part doesn't fit a BUH engine.

No, it's not - but most of the front end of the car has to come off so it may as well be.

Re: EVAP help please
According to the ElsaWin schematics, the lilac tracer goes to pin 2 and the blue to pin 1, usually the pin numbers are moulded somewhere on the multi-plug.

Re: Oil pump one way valve
I'd say it's almost certain to be the internal valves. Mine started with smoking if it had stood unused for a few days, then moved on to smoking at random when started first time when used daily. Eventually is was at just about every start and sometimes more than once a day. It could fill a good hun...

Re: HPFP Connection
I think checking is easier than that - disconnect and remove the pump (taking care not to drop the plunger rod) then you can see the top of the follower - the wear on other engines is clearly visible on the upper surface of it. On some the plunger actually cuts a hole in the follower top face.

Re: HPFP Connection
Noise from the pump could be that the cam follower is worn. Unlike some other models I don't think it's common on the V10 but it's something to check before laying out for a new pump.

Re: Oil change washers
I understand that the policies of VAG service centres and aftermarket places that use VAG procedures is that the plugs and washers are replaced at each oil change. Washers ok, but the plugs as well? I mean, they aren't exactly fragile are they.

Re: Replace all 4 tires at the same time?
A rule of thumb is that if the vehicle has 3 differentials (like a 'proper' non-Haldex quattro), then tyre wear/tread depth doesn't really matter. If there's a viscous coupling in the mix (like a Subaru or Volvo) then it matters a lot. I've driven quattros for 30 years and never had a problem, not e...

The 10mm deep seal (07L103051D) was used on the Lamborghini HURACAN LP600 and has been superseded to 07L 103 051F at around £25 +tax from Eurospares.
