Re: Engine Fault - Camshaft Position Sensor - Ideas?

It sounds a very similar issue to mine. Only on cold start it occurs and light throttle. If I let the motor warm up to the first line on temp gauge before setting off it doesn’t throw the EPC light. Never occurs when the motor is warm. It’s really annoying as it doesn’t affect the performance of the...

Re: Engine Fault - Camshaft Position Sensor - Ideas?

I had this issue, cam position (inlet) slow response. Cured by replacing cam control actuator and perform oil change. Job was 3hrs, didn’t require engine removal. The actuator works on oil pressure, it’s definately worth changing oil if this is your issue. Hey, did you do the work yourself on this?...

Re: Gearbox service

I had all oils changed in the driveline last year, it was circa £450 in total for oils and labour at an indi.

There are four parts to the driveline that oil needs changing:

Front final drive
Gearbox
Transfer box
Rear final drive

Re: B8 RS4 - Brake disc, pads and hoses - Available parts listed in this thread

So jealous! Wow that is low even at the highest setting, have they settled yet? Can't wait to hear more on the brakes, my pads are 4 and 3mm so have to be done soon but Discs may give me a few more weeks, thankfully as the sunroof is leaking and Warranty Wise are fighting the claim could be a £2k b...

Re: New brakes- Audi or aftermarket?

There is not much choice for rear discs on the B8. reyland motorsport supply their own to replace the OEM but I’ve not found many reviews on how good they are. I’ve just committed to replacing my rears with OEM. There is a bit more choice for the fronts, EBC produce front discs for the B8, they seem...

Re: Rs4 b8 engine noise

That doesn’t sound good, I would get it checked out asap and would not use it until diagnosed. Sounds like it’s coming from the valve train area. Can you hear if it is coming from a specific side of the engine? It would help to diagnose it if you can pin point the part of the engine where it is loud...

Re: DRC noise under normal operation

The knocking noise appears to be an inherent behaviour of the original DRC shocks when in comfort mode. They have developed upgraded shocks to cure the knock noise. Not particularly helpful when each shock costs circa £350. I had the odd faint knock in comfort mode after my DRC were re-pressurised. ...

Re: Multiple dash warning lights???

Bit of a guess but it could be your battery failing. Heard of a similar problem on a B7 and it was down to low voltage in the battery. You’ll need to plug it in to get the full answer.

Re: DRC noise under normal operation

From what you have described on your posts, I’m certain it is DRC, mine behaved exactly as you described with a Woody type knock noise only on certain bumps or imperfections in the road, it was quite random. You need to get your pressures checked on the DRC. That has to be the starting point. That’s...

Re: DRC noise under normal operation

Hi, I experienced the same when I picked up my RS4 from an independent garage. I did a lot of research on the topic before I bought my RS4 so had a good idea what I was getting myself into. I’m assuming your RS has DRC suspension, if so it will be that your system has lost pressure and will need to ...

Re: Audi Extended warranty - any experiences or advice?

I would renew with Audi UK before it expires as you will generally get a good deal. If you have a break after expiry and then try and renew they will double the price.

Re: DRC failed already - only had it 3 weeks!!

If you have that much oil escaping from the DRC it’s likely to be a hose that connects to the shocker has let go.
