I don't know. It might be clogged. I have no idea if there's a good and safe way of cleaning it all out.
Did you take out all the old power steering fluid and replace it?

Re: Power steering questions…
No. It's normal weight power steering. Is it worse turning one way rather than another? Some of the front steering bits can go stiff with lack of use or wear. Mine was a bit heavy until I had something changed but can't remember what it was. Check front tyre pressures are ok as if they're low then a...

I'd be inclined to get it professionally cleaned and checked. You don't want it doing weird stuff with the gearbox.

Also battery and alternator. Any power issues and they're worth looking at to rule out.

Re: 18155 - transmission solenoid power relay
If that power relay has any input via the F125 switch and that hasn't been replaced in a few years I'd probably start with that. There's a fusebox under the bonnet for gubbins as well. Couple of wiring diagrams in the Bentley manual that might help. Looks like there are a lot of earth points to check.

Re: Looking at buying a 2003 RS6 - a couple questions
I'd think the long interval was the original planned one then a load of them failed so interval was shortened. There was a spate of snapped belts in a lot of cars when manufacturers started pushing out the intervals from the usual 36-40k out to 60 or 72k or beyond. Lots had to return to the normal 3...

Re: Looking at buying a 2003 RS6 - a couple questions
V8 engine cambelt AND water pump is 4 years or 40,000 for a standard belt. You can get uprated belts that will do 5 years. All the tensioners need changing too. It's essential. The OEM water pump had plastic innards as well and the good kits have metal impellers. I did mine regardless. The mess if i...

Re: Slight vibration under acceleration
The torque converter does something at around 40 mph. It's called lock up. I don't have much more technical knowledge beyond that, sorry! I could feel 'something' on mine when it was around 38-42 mph or so. You could just feel there was something occurring. All I know is it's for efficiency as you r...

Isn't 40 mph where the torque converter lock up happens?
