RE: Audi Concert Stereo Issue (volume controller)

This is a very common problem and even the local repairers seem to have problem making a permanent fix.

After our repaired one did it again I have just changed for a new sony head unit its not worth the hassle with the audi one in my opinion.

The AWE Transmission Brace makes a world of difference to the cars driveability IMO. I think the car should have this from the factory.

RE: headlights

I think there are some basic settings and output tests that can be be performed but if you are only having 1 move about you may have a dodgy headlight to deal with rather than a problem with the self levelling actuators. :?

Dippy, I never wanted to get this technical either, by the way , the Forge DVRS is a variable tension piston DV as is the Optimus, a variable diaphragm. I was given a couple to play with and found that I had DV chatter straight away and the car felt worse on the lowest setting, turning up the dial j...

I see what you are saying... in essence the rate of change of vacuum from 0psi to 20psi vacuum is very fast. the opening difference is too fast to notice. and the Piston valve may open quicker on the bench but it may be slower because of its mass against the diaphragm in the fast change over of vacu...

I have to agree with Dippy, Pistons are slower, want proof go look at Forges website, diaphram valves for those who want fast operation times.... http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=0006&product=FMDVR KAygee, I'm happy to be proved wrong, but Forges website is going to be f...

Wak, For your comparative test to be valid, you'd have to have matched springs in each valve. I do need to understand this more so any help is appreciated. From what I understand the difference in the mechanical operation is what we are measuring hence why would you want matched springs? We are mea...

There's no doubt that diaphragm valves open more quickly than piston types,. Did you have a look at my link? Thers every doubt in my mind ! :) Diaphragm valves do not open more quickly, depending on spring they open later but always take longer vacuum range to open fully than a piston valve! in rea...

RE: Need someone with VAGCOM - Luton, Beds

AFAIK, the whole point of DV's is they take away the back pressure of a closed throttle body and let the turbo boost recirculate and help keep the turbo spooling. An atmospheric BOV will reduce the effectiveness of the design and your hesitation may well be the ecu not liking the BOV's plus the turb...

It's a common problem, but only affects the Blaupunkt head units. You can buy the head units on Ebay, but if you do, I would try and purchase the Panasonic type as people will try to sell the faulty Blaupunkt head units and hide the fact that they are faulty. (Crooks on Ebay - surely not ! )...

Its apparently under the throttle valve housing and you have to remove it to get to it! not a quick job.

If they are cheap you may as well replace it.
