Re: And so it begins!

Is noting easy!?

The brake pad retainer pins have grown to be part of the caliper and with the help of some monkey beating at them in the past I'm having to actually drill them out after trying every trick in the book.

Happy joy

Re: And so it begins!

P.S. good luck with those jobs - these cars appreciate being kept in top condition and examples with 'everything right' are hard to come by these days. Most are probably on here. Thanks very much, I'm hoping after putting some time and effort into mine I'll be able to stand back and look at a nice ...

Re: And so it begins!

Mine are in about the same condition as yours. I was going to get some stickers but would be interested in seeing your results. Without being modest: is it a case of being patient and taking care, or more of a specialist skill? The closest I've been to painting anything on any of my cars is sprayin...

And so it begins!

Might be an idea in the future,I've done a fair few in the past including the customer requests on the SLR production line at Mclaren.

Well see,get mine done as they will be far nicer that just a standard solid gloss finish and go from there

Re: And so it begins!

I've kinda gone down that route before with the MLR lot got fed up with people constantly wanting everything for nothing. I know they are only calipers but I like things right and unfortunately people are just not willing to pay the little extra. I wouldn't put a set price on them either. I'll do mi...

Re: And so it begins!

Thanks very much for that little list I'll set about looking over it myself. AMD put it under pressure and did the looking so I'm going to do some looking myself from what I can see it's not as far back as the turbo though. As for the calipers the Pistons and seals all look in good condition so the ...

Thought that myself but after looking around its not the case I quite like them. It'll be a burnt orange rather than the bright in your face type http://i927.photobucket.com/albums/ad118/leeleemosley/RS6/47C2C691-1DEB-4666-B407-361EEB5AC02A.jpg http://i927.photobucket.com/albums/ad118/leeleemosley/R...

Re: And so it begins!

Must say I'm leaning towards the orange,I'll do a few spayouts and go from there.

Yep AMD in Woking seemed really professional and very knowledgeable so far I take it you've had issues with AMD in Essex then?

Re: And so it begins!

Yeah I'll be getting some standard A6 mirror covers if I go ahead with the blacking. To be honest I've refurbished far worse calipers in the past so these will come up a treat! I'm just trying to make my mind up on the colour at the moment, they will be going a matte finish like the ones here http://...

And so it begins!

Thought I'd start a tread on for my car as I quite like following progress on other peoples projects and getting ideas and so on,oh and the pretty pictures that normally come with them  Bought the car a few weeks ago from a dealer in East London, probably not the best of ideas but it seemed t...

Re: Photoshop request for new guy!

Now I like them a lot! The whole stance bit is a matter of opinion as I like to actually drive my cars but as show cars they look pretty cool.

Nice pictures

Re: Photoshop request for new guy!

They look well,as said though they would look better without so much going on. The concave look really sets them off
