Re: Evo Magazine Group Test
C8 is chalk and cheese over a C7 as well In what way? Certainly not in performance. C8 is a huge 140kg heavier in basic trim over the C7 so even the non performance version of the C7 had a better power to weight ratio than the C8, never mind the C7 Performance. C8 should have come in at 650hp to co...

Re: Car Wow - Audi RS6 v BMW M5 v AMG E63 v Porsche Panamera - DRAG RACE
The 6 looks the most aggressive and arguably the best looker, no doubts about it. However, that’s not a good advertisement for the C8, It’s lost it’s rawness from the C7, put on the weight and not really gained any power. It got thumped in every test there, slightly embarrassing as it’s supposed to ...

Re: Bad day
Crazy price even if it is internal Audi warranty work.
I’d be taking mine to Race Developments for rebuild if the block was still in one piece. If not then I’d be searching the breakers yards for a used engine at a fraction of the costs that have been mentioned.

Re: Bad day
Why would you even take a tuned but still in warranty car to Audi with an engine failure?
You just wouldn’t.
You just wouldn’t.

Re: Bad day
Not sure I believe any of this to be honest. £40k for a new engine? Bo*locks. No details about the failure, no pictures of the smashed engine block, no posts about where can I find a replacement engine. No questions about what to do in the event of an engine failure (last thing you want to do is tak...

5yrs old? Have we fast forwarded a year?
Earliest C7's have literally just turned 4yrs old.
4yr old C7's are worth, or should be worth £45-50k today.

Re: spark plugs
Could that be though thee engine switching from 8 cylinder to 4 cylinder mode and vice versa - mine is noticeable as it switches between the 2  Yes, this is the reason why you will see thousands of 'misfires' in the counters. The only time you need to worry about an engine misfire is when y...

Ecotune is the name of a garage in Glasgow who are an authorised APR dealer (Bit like Awesome GTI in Manchester) The owner of Ecotune has an RS6 himself and the car performs very well from what I've seen of it. APR are probably one of the biggest VAG tuners around the world, huge in America. Ecotune...

Bloody speed bumps
Not sure that is an RS6, anyone confirm? Couldn't see the twin ovals in the video, footage too grainy. Not sure the arches look wide enough either. News articles states A6, youtube vid description states RS6

Agreed, the Golf R is todays Citroen Saxo.
£225pm lease deals was its major plus point but also its ultimate demise. Image ruined.

1/4m for a stock 560hp RS6 is 11.3-11.4, Stage 1 around 10.8-10.9 and Stage 2 10.5-10.6
Stock 1/4m for a Golf R is around 12.7-12.8. Stage 1 12.0-12.1, Stage 2, 11.5-11.7. Hybrids and race fuel at 550hp however can break into the 10's no probs.
Power ultimately wins an autobahn duel.

Re: Exit Stage Left?
GTR was released in December 2007 so is 10yrs old now. I personally don't see the appeal in going back to a car of that age and era, the same way I no longer find 997 Turbo's appealing when the new 991's are head and shoulders above. Times have moved on, GTR's just like Evo's and Scooby's are in the...

Re: Exit Stage Left?
No, No, No at downgrading an RS6 to a Golf  Too much of a drop. Yes, they are fairly quick with a map (Although they wouldn't be giving any RS6's standard or modified a run for their money) but there are tons of them around. Every time I see one, it's being driven by some 21yr old type boy ra...

Re: Exit Stage Left?
Give GC Motors in Harrogate an email or a call. They purchase high end cars at just above trade price, I've sold a couple to them now. Also use the Audi valuation tool to get your ball park... https://www.audi.co.uk/used-cars/part-exchange.html Tootle is also good and you will have a couple of offer...
