when I informed my insurance company about the flood damage to my car they told me it would be written off and if I wanted to retain the reg then do not send in the V5. I am now at a point of payout and they have said that they will payout 90% now and the other 10% once the transfer of reg has been ...

I took a few bits off but nothing if any value. It's at Copart so it'll be up for auction very soon. It's more sad that the shell is mint but it'll need to be crushed as it cannot go back on the road!!! That is truly astounding, no just cause for it to happen at all. This is sad, if the water was only as high as you said it was, only the CCM would've needed to be replaced...a new carpet couldn't hurt but the whole car for only those couple of items is sad. So the latest on my insurance saga.

The car has now been re-catergoried to a Cat -B by another assessor so I won't be getting it back. On a brighter note, they have increased their initial offer by about £5k so I'm happy with that. Means I can actually afford another car now!!!

Give sky insurance a go. Competitive quotes, and mod friendly. Got both cars insured with them. This is who I am with. Actually they are a broker so I am with markerstudy.
