Re: Coilovers?

While your fitting the front shocks fit powerflex front ARB bushes

You want the 29mm ones for the RS4 , makes it so much better turn in etc . Only take 20 mins to fit too . £35 well spent

I got mine from

Re: seized pinch bolts on upright+track rod end

Soak in wd40 for a few days . Mine were the same but I kept turning it then it freed itself . The top arm pinch bolt took an hour of turning

Do not heat it up it will crack it

Re: Coilovers?

Just fitted B14's , the ride is slightly harder but over all I prefer it. I had a oily front OS shock so removed the whole system

Its to unreliable to replace and expensive

Re: DIY B14's

It's to do with the collar on the strut which sits below the strut top and the coilover spring not sitting in the OEM mount correctly .

Re: knocking noise wont go away !

Same problem after fitting Bilstein B14's . All the arms , droplinks were changed and Tuesday I did ARB bushes from Powerflex .

I've now got to send the shock back to get it checked.

Re: DIY B14's

Indeed I've just done mine , it can be done but a lot of messing around . No need to remove the top pinch bolt as you just pull the shock towards the arch and undo the arms . I removed all the under trays so I could remove the DRC lines , obviously in a garage up on a ramp is easier than being on yo...

Mine not given me any problems in 2 1/2 years . Now on 113000.

Drives like a 40,000 mile car and looking through the history the pain in the arse / nasty bits were done in the 90's
