Re: Issues with recent Audi ECU software update
I just received the following feedback from my tech guy over at the local Audi dealer/shop: ”What the software does is that it changes and improves the oil cooling for the turbos. The adaptations in the ECU are cleared after the update, so you will have to drive the car hard afterwards in order for ...

Re: Issues with recent Audi ECU software update
Exactly, I was told this is a compulsory safety update that I could not decline.

Re: Issues with recent Audi ECU software update
That's what I was told too by the technician that performed the software update. He also said that on MY14 (my car) it is only a software update, but on MY13 it is also a hardware update (perhaps the actual o-rings?). But I would really like to know *exactly* what actual engine parameters this softw...

Re: Pop, crackle, bang... not any more :(
Similar issue here -- although in my case I haven't yet reflected on any major change in exhaust sound, only in engine responsiveness. If anyone else has done this ECU software upgrade, feel free to have a look at this thread too (no hi-jack intended :-): https://forum.rs246.com/viewtopic.php?f=76&t...

Re: Issues with recent Audi ECU software update
I've tried to google the issue but the closest I got was this (which doesn't mention any ECU update): http://www.carproblemzoo.com/tsb/audi/rs6/2014-audi-rs6.php I've also asked my service technician to look into it, but haven't heard back from him yet. *If* there is some sort of engine power reduct...

Re: C7 RS6 vs Tesla Model S
I was surprised (in a good way of course) as were many others no doubt at the PH MY17 GTR vs RS6 PE track battle vid that came out. Honestly, that test was really out of whack... I don't doubt the RS6 performance in that test, but there was most definitely something fishy going on with the GTR, be ...

Issues with recent Audi ECU software update
Hi all, I had my RS6 (MY14) at the Swedish APR tuner for an ECU upgrade (which supposedly will raise the performance to 680 hp / 950 Nm :-), but before they could do any downloading, there was an Audi service bulletin that instructed them to update the ECU with the new Audi software first (if I reca...

Anyone up for trade? Aluminium window sills for black sills…
I have a phantom black RS6 2014 with aluminium window sills that I'd like to replace with high-gloss black window sills instead (but keep the aluminium rails and the aluminium grill frame). As this is a rather costly endeavour through Audi, I thought I'd give it a long-shot and check around if there...

Hej Björnbuse, I notice we've owned very similar cars over the years
. Are you too located in Stockholm?

Re: Winter car!!
I for one will of course drive the RS6 in the winter time as well (I have 20" winter tires on; summer tires run on 21"), but for really poor road conditions (i.e. huge amounts of snow or black ice) when the risk of damages by other drivers are extraordinary, I have just gotten a Golf R -- kind of th...

Re: SD cards
Thanks for input guys. I just bought a SanDisk Ultra SDXC 64 GB Class 10 card that I have now formatted to ExFAT (which is the only FAT format available in Apple DiskUtil), which I have read is the successor to FAT32 (vastly superseding the FAT32 32 GB limit). I will now try to copy a couple of iTun...

Re: Hello - and more brake Squeal!!!
I have the steel brakes on mine, and the car has been squealing under soft braking from lower speeds (like in queue traffic) pretty much from the beginning (well, not when it was brand new, but not long thereafter). Finally I took it out for a, shall we say, slightly more inspired drive ;–), about a...

SD cards
Hi, does anyone know which SD cards can be used in the RS6 MY 2014 with MMI+? Ideally I would like to have two 64 GB or 128 GB SD cards that also fit the MacBook Air 13" MY 2013, but I have no idea if those cards are compatible with the car as well. I've read somewhere that the cards must be formatt...

Re: DRC v Air
Choosing between standard Air and DRC was my toughest choice, and I'm still not certain I made the right call... I have no intentions of taking the car to the track, but I do like inspired driving on twisty roads when there's no other traffic around. I was never able to test drive an Air car, only t...

Re: Anyone who has done spacers?
Hej Björnbuse, I ordered a set of 4 x 10 mm spacers and a set of 4 x 15 mm, and although the 15 mm looked fine in the rear, they were too wide in the front, so I went with the 10 mm all around, which looked fine in the front and ok in the rear. I've had them both on my 21" summer wheels and my 20" w...
