Re: Unlocking RS4
I don't think my door lock had ever been used, I had a flat bettery once and tried WD40 for a couple of weeks, to no avail, then tried PB Blaster, free lock within 10 seconds

Re: H&R on DRC, reverse rake fix?
Are you aware how the shocks are mounted, can't see where you would fit a spacer.

Re: In the future...
I recently had to source an RS4 steering rack after a leaky seal. I could pay Audi £1400 for a remanafactured rack, or send my own to a local firm for the same treatment for £180. Only issue was the garages are not keen on having a rackless car stuck on a ramp while the rack is refurbed, so I ended ...

Re: Rear Brake discs
I bought a set of Giro Disc rotors, Cost about £550, I bought them through Scan Automotive in Vancouver Canada, and collected them while over there for a holiday to avoid postage costs and any hassle with customs. Not that much cheaper initially, but if I ever need to replace them I will only need t...

Re: Suspension musings
PL and PQ platforms are quite different. RS4 is PL which is for longitudal and a torsen diff attached to the gear box for rear drive. The tiguan is PQ which is transverse with haldex mounted in the rear subframe for rear drive, the original tiguan is PQ46, which itself is a derivative of the PQ35, o...

replacing tyre valves
Currently have my winter wheels fitted to the car, summers are in need of a respray, plus will get new rubber while I'm at it. However the TMPS valves are also needing replaced, has anybody fitted the clamp style valves such as the OZ. The threaded part of the valve stem has crumbled away so I was t...

Re: Suspension musings
How about allroad suspension from the C5, think that would be a lot better chance of fitting rather than a tiguan

Intake swirl flaps
So by now must be a decent ammount of cars without swirl flaps. My car is currently in for the MOT but the CEL is on due to flap issues. Can I just pick some peoples brains, I take it there is a vacuum powered actuator on each bank to drive the flaps, and a position sensor to report to the ECU the p...

Re: Bag of foam
My wifes 2013 Polo had a bag of foam wedged into the gap between the inner and outer wing, it had a proper VAG part number printed on the bag and I googled and it was supposed to be there, think its still in the spare room somewhere, never noticed any difference in noise from the car without the foa...

Thought the rs4 already used decent rods and forged pistons?
What direction you looking at going, more revs? Higher compression? Or low comp for forced induction?

Re: Service frequency
Looks like it was on the long life service schedule, so oil changes look as per audi recommendations Timing chain shouldn't be an issue, not like the S4 engine. How much meat is on the brakes at the moment, and don't forget tyres, they may be low as well I would be surprised if it still has DRC, alt...

Re: Spark plug part number correct?
Audi changed to the single tip spark plugs a few years ago, as per part number 06H905601A, when I ordered mine they were shrink wrapped into a set of 8, so clearly they are intended for 8 cylinder engines. It was mentioned that the triple tips sheilded the spark a little bit more from the air/fuel m...

Brake pad wear indicator
With the brake pad warning being a major fail with the new MOT system thats coming up, is it possible to code out the warning with VCDS? I have ceramics but apparently its common for the sensors to corrode and give off false warnings. This is probably whats happened in my case as the pads look like ...
