Theyre directional for a reason.
If your mechanic/garage advised you to swap the pads from one side to the other, I would seriously have concerns about their credibility.

Don't scrimp or bodge on brakes with these motors..... if you open the brakes - change the pads.... minimum.

I couldn't care less what the insurance cost is...... if you mod your car, its an excuse for higher premiums.

Get it serviced at Audi. I only use Audi for scheduled service work. Its more expensive but it will be once every 2 yrs. Yep, i did just that. Couldnt be happier with the DRC system. Its far and away a superior set up than any fixed coil-over upgrade. Precisely the same as i had when i first owned the car.
Changed the HID tubes and all was cured.
I was told it was definitely a ballast unit..... which would be the thick end of 400 quid....

Oh ive done it..... all too easy if you dont keep your eye on the resevoir level when bleeding. The only way to free the trapped air in the pump housing is by running the ABS pump manually via VAGCOM/VCDS during bleeding.
