Hi Folks,

Looking for a new/secondhand Steering rack for a 2008 RS6 C6. Ordered one from TPS but there
is no sign of it arriving.

Jim Haseltine - is there a parts list somewhere? c3nturi0n - Rack is ordered through them by REP, they have told Ricky its on back order for possibly months. I rang Audi UK/Ireland and they confirmed that there is no...

So after taking the car to another UK specialist, they have confirmed its the steering rack, aided by the fact that its now groaning
when you turn the wheel.

Anyone know of rack for sale??
Audi UK are saying its on back order and it could be months.

The shutter is closed to try and reduce the noise, as people have said they will take pics/vids if you ask. Although I do agree,
it would be nice if there was a viewing window or monitor where you could watch.

I bought new Depo units, the fit and finish is terrible. I only bought them as the reviews I found said
they were equal to the OE. Valeo are the OE brand by the way.

Haven't heard of the Freni Discs, but did you try the two AP Racing vendors in the states??

Just to update the thread, went with the suggestions of replacing the CV Joints. Garage couldn't unbolt the CV Joints from the drive'S though, so I had to order a new set of drives. Surprisingly they arrived from Audi within 48hrs. Garaged fitted the new drives yesterday, reversed it out and "clunk"...

Thanks for the replies folks, its a strange one. The car makes the noise turning left predominately, but also when
going straight over broken roads. One mechanic has suggested a steering rack, but searching the forums there
doesn't seem to be many mentions of these having an issue.

Has anyone fitted any FFR1 or FFR2 wheels to their C6??

Can't find any photos online of either of them on a C6 RS6.

Hey Folks, The car has developed a clunking noise from the front left at low speeds, making turns, reversing etc. Jacked the front up to have a look, the noise disappears. Put the car back down and the noise returns, initial thoughts were a tie rod but there doesn't appear to be any play in the whee...

Finally its fixed, turned out to be the loom, which had rubbed on the rear and cracked badly.
