Re: DRC vs Air practicality and reliability

I have yet to see a thread on here by someone having problems with the air suspension system. However, threads on DRC issues...!

Re: RS6 Headlight Bulb

If you have a bulb in the headlight unit then it isn't LED and thus it is likely to be an identical unit to that fitted to same-era A6 cars. I would suggest checking on the A6 forum as there is a lot of info there, much of which is directly applicable to the RS6. https://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/...

Re: Shell V-Power racing 100

I have run my car on Tesco Momentum 99 for 60,000 miles so far without a problem; that's one less RON rating than your Shell product and 2 higher than the Audi-suggested 97 RON. I am no expert but I am unaware of there being a problem with fuel that has a higher octane rating than the minimum requir...

Re: RS6 moving on

My car is a very similar age and specification and I am thinking of selling it. Can I ask how you found the experience selling on Collecting Cars? It appears your car secured a really good price on that platform.
Thanks

Continental Sport 7 vs. 5

I am aware many on this forum are focussed entirely on performance of their RS6s above all other considerations, so this info is probably not for you. Anyway, I have had the ContiSport 5 ContiSilent tyres on my car (2015) since new (factory fit, and I have just kept fitting them). These are the tyre...

Re: Recognising DRC / Air suspension

I *think* the Air cars always have the removeable panel mounted in the centre of the rear diffuser that provides access to the tow bar as part of the "towing preparation" pack that is fitted as standard, whether a tow bar is fitted or not. I believe the DRC cars have a single rear diffuser with no s...

Re: Carplay Update - for free?

Forgot to say: I used the Mr Fix links to do it and it was all free. The only important bit is you need to use a download manager to download the two install files as they take forever if you just download them using your browser. I used a tool that was imaginatively called "Free download Manager"; ...

Re: Carplay Update - for free?

I did the free MMI and mapping update to my 2015 Facelift RS6. It was easy to do and worked perfectly. The update gave me Android Auto/Apple CarPlay and improved a couple of minor things in the MMI. A separate update file then gave me "2022/23" map data for the nav system (only possible after doing ...

Re: Parts List

You can still use Autodoc (or similar site) to establish whether the RS6 and RS7 share a common brake rotor, though.

Re: Parts List

Why not just use a parts supplier website like Autodoc to check? They sell SHW, which I think are the OWM supplier of wavy discs to Audi.

Re: Brake Pads

OEM brake calipers are made by Brembo. I fitted Brembo pads last time around. Identical to the worn Audi pads I removed. Another recent thread on here stated who makes the OEM wavy discs. Brembo pads available widely - I got mine from Euro car Parts in the UK. About half the cost of Audi branded equ...

Re: Carplay in 2018 C7

I am talking about the camera-based system, which I have in my RS6. It is helpful but it misses soooo many changes - it often is better at catching the smaller low-level repeater posts than the main signs, which means you are always 200-600m behind the change. And it is intermittent on overhead gant...

Re: Carplay in 2018 C7

The traffic signs displayed by the car bear only an occasional passing resemblance to the speed limit in force on the road. Not worth it.

Re: Juddering on tight turns

It's not the Quattro system, it is simply very wide tyres on a cold day. My RWD Mercedes before this Audi did exactly the same thing. The outer edge of the tyre is moving across the road surface at a different speed to the inner edge when on full lock. The tyre's rubber is too cold to flex.
