Hello,
Mine did this once, i sprayed some WD40 into the lock catch and it's been as good as gold since, apparently something to do with water in the lock.
Hope that helps.

A3/S3 Washer jets???
Hi guys,
Does anyone know, or has tried to fit washer jets from a mk5 VW Golf onto an A3 or S3???
The reason being, that on the Golf the water is sprayed in a fan, rather than two pairs of jets, i was thinking of changing mine.
Anyone???

Xenon headlight adjustment
Hi guys, I changed my battery 2 weeks ago, and the ECU is ok but my headlights were all over the place. I know someone with a code reader that when plugged in came up with "headlamps not adjusted" but wouldn't let me clear the code. I adjusted the lights to the right level, and it was ok, driving ho...

What brake options???
Hi all, My 2000 S3 has got standard brakes, the other night after a bit of "spirited" driving  i noticed a slightly hot smell when i got home. I was thinking of changing the discs and pads soon, and wondered what the best/most cost effective option for "fast road" setup would be. I don't reall...

RE: Engine management light
Good news, new O2 sensor fitted this morning and codes reset, and light is now out!
It seems to be running better as well, hopefully better fuel consumption too.

RE: Engine management light
Hi Dunc,
I reckon it's had it, cos the code reader said "mulfunction" and it put the light on pretty soon after re-setting it.
Will have to check connections etc.
Cheers

RE: Engine management light
Right, I had the fault codes read today and there where 2 on there, the codes where 17511 bank 1, probe 1 heating circuit and 17524 bank 1, probe 1 heating circuit, both reading as a malfunction. Had codes cleared and light went out. The fault codes mean: 17511 bank 1, probe 1 reading too low 17524 ...

RE: Engine management light
I'm getting a local guy with a code reader to plug it in tomorrow and see what i comes up with, hopefully it's just as others have had, some kind of hiccup. It runs fine, no obvious signs of anything playing up, so fingers crossed.
Will report back tomorrow.
