Re: B8 purchase...
If you only read the one sentence in my post, make it this one- please test drive a car with and without dynamic steering. And i mean test drive properly on roads you're used too. If i was buying again, Id omit the sport pack just to avoid DS and buy the other items separately. Its £2k versus £4k bu...

Re: Service and customer service Worthing Audi
Im not sure Id rate camberley so highly. Rob was very helpful when he was there, but i had a couple of problems One of the DRC pipes they replaced leaked several months later. These things happen so no great harm done. Next time they put my front bumper back on incorrectly. They tried telling me the...

Re: Real World B8 RS4 Fuel Consumption
22mpg average for first 1500miles. Routinely see 26 if you drive it legally\ or while trying to be gentle breaking in the engine. Best so far was 29.4 on A roads driving from Fort william to edinburgh. This is easily 4-5mpg better than the B7 Rs4 i had before. ( Will take a long time to make up the ...

Re: understeer
I hate to say it, but I agree with most of your comments. I hate dynamic steering-it does feel wooden. The B8 is a better car in every way compared to the B7, (IMHO which I really connected with over my 3 year period of ownership. I'd like to drive a b8 without dynamic steering and see if the servo ...

Re: SATNAV Scale changing?
I had this once. You could try a reset of the mmi. Hold the top right button, centre button and if I recall correctly the bottom left for a good few seconds and it will rest. (If it wasn't the bottom left it was the other button to make a diagonal line.) My car has been in for other satnav oddities-...

I'll be up for the meet too.
Would have to be July, I live near Crawley, Sussex but don't mind a bit of a trek around the M25.

Re: Rs4 B7 rel world mpg
22-24mpg when i first bought it with 35000 miles on it.
20-22mpg when it touched 60000 miles.
Generally 250-270 miles to a tank.
My driving was 50% motorway, 50% A roads, very little around town driving.

Re: About to pull the trigger on a new RS4
To echo whats been said above, ACC is great- I use it far more than i thought i would. Not just on the motorway but whenever Im stuck on a A road, driving at 50 with lots of traffic in front. I wouldn't want to be without it. Also, high beam assist does actually work. Its much better than its reputa...

Re: Knocking suspension when cold
D8vil, Really sorry to hear that. I collected mine this morning- the knock has gone, and its handling a lot better. Apparently when the car is transported, there are transport suspension stops (plastic bungs to lock the suspension). Strangely the bump stop is also floating on the piston. When the te...

Re: Knocking suspension when cold
According to the dealership mine is now fixed! Apparently a suspension stop was in the wrong place- when they removed the transport spacers, the suspension didn't sink into the cradle correctly. It's been corrected and road tested and I'm assured it's now fine. I'll collect on Saturday and see how i...

Re: Knocking suspension when cold
GazzaP, I could literally have copied word for word what you just posted. On the drive home from collecting it on the day of delivery, I floored it on a nice smooth sweeping bend on the dual carriageway. It was dynamic, and it bounced around so much, I scared myself. My B7 RS4 never behaved like thi...

Re: Knocking suspension when cold
Ive done 600 miles in mine over the last fortnight and its done it from day one. It sounds like its coming from the rear. It is worse when cold. It seems to be worse in comfort than dynamic. I can't tell if its when the shock is compressed or during extension. As a side note, i find the dynamic sett...

Re: Text messages over mmi with iPhone 4s
I've just re read the section on apple support.
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3647?view ... cale=en_US
It states "message access profile" should work and if not it's the fault of the car.
Any thoughts as this could be useful when approaching Audi uk.

Re: Text messages over mmi with iPhone 4s
Doodlebug,
Ive got an additional sim for data in the sim card slot- the T-mobile/EE £20 for 6 month Sim.
When you say its no biggie, how would having this sim help me get text messages from my iPhone on the MMI?
Are you thinking of some kind of text forwarding service, similar to call forwarding?

Text messages over mmi with iPhone 4s
Hi all, I picked up my rs4 at the weekend-it's got mobile phone high on it. On the telephone section, the text message options are greyed out. I've checked the Audi website and the iPhone 4S does do "message access profile", but I can't seem to make it work. The phone works fine and I have an additi...
