Audi also told me there is a transponder in the "valet" key. When i had the car returned police found a plastic audi fob - the plastic key can be put into it and used to start / drive the car... Car is back and Audi have done a superb job of making it look and smell like a new car again - no damage ...

Car "recovered". Not sure what state. Hopefully the f*ckers got chewed by some big ass police Alsatians. Not sure when I get the car back. Forensics are checking it over. Do I want it back?! But as you all say v glad I left the keys visible and family not threatened!

Correction to my earlier post, they broke in and stole the spare key it transpires whilst we were asleep...the f*ckers.

They've also taken the spare key to our other Audi...

Wasn't keyless start...although they managed to do it without my key!

Probably cloned key as would have heard a low loader.

Just had my new S4 Avant stolen from my house nr Paddock Wood in Kent. Didn't take the keys.

New pads and all seems well. Hoping no more squeaking. Steering updated and all seems well...thought it was dodgy this morning but probably just Hurricane Jude / Autumn storm blowing car around!

I would do but got new S4 in March and only now has the £7k contribution appeared which makes the RS4 comparable to my S4 in costs. Grrrrr...

Was in Tonbridge Audi the other day perusing an RS4 on the forecourt and enquired about a new one and was told that they couldn't access the RS4 configurator on the system and they thought that production had been stopped / delayed...

Has anyone else heard this or was this just likely a load of BS?

Thanks for the welcome... ;-) I've seen some others on here have had an update recently and no issues so hopefully all will be well... ...it's going in for new brake discs as well due to squeaking (only done 5k miles)...hope this isn't the start of things to come. My last Audi blew up within two day...

Hi All. I've been browsing this forum for a while and was wondering if anyone else had had their S4 recalled for a steering software update recently? Car was delivered 1st March 2013 so I thought all the steering related issues our friends across the pond have experienced, were solved...I guess not....
