Re: RS4 B7 Engine de-coke
Mine has 60,000 miles and was dyno'd by MRC at 376PS (15% down) 18 months ago. Since then I've run on Tesco Momentum most of the time (or Shell V-Power occasionally) and poured in Audi's additive G-001-770-A2 at every other fill. Now, believe it or not, keeping the revs up in all gears seems to be c...

Re: Exhaust flap mod.
I've removed the vac lines and plugged them with golf tees ... works perfectly, using a couple of fuel line clamps to be completely sure. With light throttle I don't think the noise is any louder than with the valves closed ... I think it's worth trying this simple 10-minute solution before rewiring.

Re: RS4 avant vs 996 C4S
From my Porsche days (2006-2008, 997) I remember that the 996 was rather unloved and certainly not an appreciating asset. Maybe they have become more collectable but the 997 is a better daily driver, and neither 996 or 997 is as much fun as my RS4 cabrio!

Re: Cabrio roof mechanism: maintenance?
No problem as yet but I believe all mechanical pivots should be lubricated to avoid overloading their drive mechanisms. Puzzled that this aspect of a complicated roof system is not mentioned anywhere!

Cabrio roof mechanism: maintenance?
Does anyone here know if there is a recommended lubricant/application for the roof linkages and pivots? I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere and I don't think it's part of the Audi service schedule. Might be wrong though.

Re: RS4 B7 Cabriolet Owners Manual?
Mine had water damage when I bought the car so I ordered another from Newbury Audi last October ... the price was £45.07 incl VAT. The SKU/part number is 271.561.8HR.20 (mine is an 07MY).

In support of the "stock" RS 4
This is my second Audi after a selection of many nice cars, and I've had my amazing B7 RS 4 for a year. The B7 forum is fascinating and I have found it to be an invaluable source of advice whenever I have needed to learn something ... the priceless value of information on oil consumption, sticking c...

Re: Best way to prevent cokeing up/carbon issues?
I bought my first RS 4 (a 2006 cabrio) a year ago at 56,000 miles. It has been dyno tested and diagnosed at 8% down on the expected 414 bhp due to coking. Since then (about 8 months ago but only 4,000 miles on) I have used Momentum 99 fuel from Tesco, Audi Fuel Additive about once a month (probably ...

I had the same problem, worse when cold. New clutch, slave cylinder and hose. Now perfect again.

Re: New steering buttons - split price?
This is my first post on RS246 ... I've been quoted a lot more than £150 (over £350) for a replacement silver panel and buttons. My Sport button is very worn, and the RS4 badge at the bottom is also showing signs of age. Where can I get a replacement for £150-ish? Any other ideas? I'm thinking the m...
