Oil
Hello. I know this question has been asked numerous times but thought I'd ask what oil everyone uses and if they follow the guidelines set out in the owners manual (VW 504 00 for flexible services and VW 502 00 for fixed services). I have a 2014 model with 49000 on the clock. I do roughly 5000 miles...

Re: Sad day
Thanks. It has around 96,000 on the clock. I have asked for them to up the offer, apparently it can take up to 8 weeks for a decision.

Re: Sad day
So, the insurance company have written it off. They have offered me just over 13000. 4200 to buy it back. Damage that I know of is as follows: OS front headlamp Bumper Grille Radiator Slam panel/Radiator surround The car still runs and drives ok, but I am going to ask the engineer at my local Audi s...

Re: Sad day
I'm ok thanks. I stuffed it up the back of a truck in a queue of traffic.
The radiator has gone, bonnet, grille and bumper. Not sure about the headlamps as I haven't really inspected it yet.

Re: No power steering from cold
I haven't run VCD, will give that a go. I bought some more fluid and flushed out another litre as, on inspection, the fluid was still brown and not the lovely clear green it should be. It's now more green but I think I still need to flush more. Good news is that it hasn't failed the last few morning...

Re: No power steering from cold
So, turns out the fluid in the reservoir wasn't the correct fluid. When I topped it up and subsequently removed some as I overfilled it, I noticed the fluid was brown and not green! Saying that, my garage flushed it out and replaced it on Monday. Tuesday morning it was fine but...this morning it was...

Re: No power steering from cold
Yes, it was on the min mark and is now topped up to the max but it hasn't fixed it
I'm going to get it flushed as I know it can lose its properties over time. Perhaps in the cold weather it is too cold and the pump refuses to operate? I have no idea...

No power steering from cold
Hi all
When it's very cold, my power steering fails to work. After a mile or so I can get it working by turning the ignition off and back on. After that, it works as usual until the next cold start...
Anyone experienced this or have heard of this issue before?
Thanks
Jules
