Re: Standard steel discs and pads.. How long should they last?
My car is at 26k and all discs/pads are fine (sadly as I have Audi maintenance paying for them until December so would prefer to have them swapped before then, so far they incurred zero cost). They do squeak unless you go out and thrash it with hard braking once a month; first world problems and all...

Re: RS6 C8
In all honesty it will take something very special to get me out of my RS6 Performance. I don't need to go faster, I really like the noise, I think the interior is great and has aged well (actually prefer it to the new two black slabs versions). I usually change my main car every 18 months but have ...

Re: Real life fuel range
On my airport motorway trip I get 400+ miles from a tank. Cruise set to 76mph.
Tyre pressures have a big influence. I over inflate slightly.
If I am driving around town a tank gets 200 miles.
A mix gives (unsurprisingly) 300-ish.

Re: Fuel Consumption
weird.
Very repeatable 30mpg reported by car and 420 miles before it shows zero range.
Even on a trip from Suffolk to Switzerland including >1 hour in Germany on and off over 140mph it reports 26+.
But can not argue with range divided by tank capacity maths.
Either way better than I expected.

Non Sports Exhaust
So I ordered the wife's RS3 with the standard exhaust as she was not keen on being noisy.... With the standard exhaust it sounds awful on start up and for the first 5 minutes. Anyone got a spare sports exhaust lying around after upgrading? Otherwise I have to pay the stealer a lot for one as I don't...

Fuel Consumption
So; I drive at 70-ish most of the time on motorways but (like most of us here) cannot help myself when I have to go away from anything (lights, whatever) of using the full weight of my right foot as it just makes me laugh. However the car is now showing after 15,000 miles that it averages 29.8 mpg. ...

NFU FTW
£400 no tracker (46)
I have never claimed but apparently when you do there is no BS.
I can only speak about their customer service when adding / removing cars which I do monthly and it is first class (and they are cheap).

Re: New RS3 Lead Time
I must have upset someone at Audi.
Order date 1/12/17
Will begin construction on 2/4/18. 5 months after order!
Even my Morgan 3 wheeler which was ordered in November will be here in March and they only build one of those a month.....

New RS3 Lead Time
All, I have an RS3 coming for the wife to be a little sister to my RS6 Perf. However, despite ordering in December I still don't have a build date.... Likely to be coming in April/May. Long wait for a hot hatch. Per tradition here is spec: Mythos Black Pan roof rear airbags heated/dim/folding mirror...

Re: New RS6 PE Spec and other Questions
I spent a lot of time worrying about it and changed the spec twice but ended up on air. Best decision I made. Had DRC on my B8 RS4 and yes whilst air does have a softer ride for 99.9% of the time it is better. If you want a tight handling sports car spend your money on a Porsche or an R8, no matter ...

Oil usage
So I am 7,000 miles in.
Oil check always says fine. Not a drop used. Really?
Broken sensor or normal?
RS4 B8 chugged a litre every 1,000 miles.
